Canyon Pines RV Resort - Pollock, Idaho
08/02/14
Canyon Pines RV Resort is a beautiful, quiet place to relax and enjoy the sounds of the river. It is nestled in a canyon between Riggins and McCall and it is also close to several white water rafting opportunities. It's just a beautiful place in general and David and Sandy, the owners of Canyon Pines are very proud of their first rate facility. Stop in to their well stocked store and you'll find them to be exceptionally friendly. Everything is clean and maintained. We had the pleasure of camping in site #30 and I recommend this convenient pull-thru right on the Little Salmon River. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Springy Point Campground in Sagle Idaho (Sandpoint) offers 38 RV and tent camping sites on the shores of Pend Oreille River. The campground has 2 loops with sites all tucked in the trees. The park is located on a hillside so elevation changes are pretty steep limiting navigation and access to smaller RVs (although large RVs can fit with some care - the largest site is 45' long and there is only 1 of those; the remainder are 35' or less). Overall the park is best suited tent camping, truck camping and small RV camping. Trails lead down to the rivers edge where a swim beach is available along with a boat launch. Up near the entrance is a dump station which is accessible to any size RV. Each site has a picnic table and fire rings.
The park roads and pads are all dirt and it can be loose and dusty. No hookups at the sites a restroom with showers is available. Managed by the Corp of Engineers (COE) the park is popular in season.

Winterset City Park Campground in Winterset Iowa offers full, partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping in a city run campground. Reasonable nightly rates the sites are available on a first come first served basis unless they have been previously reserved; reservations can be made 5 days in advance by calling the city offices. Located in the small rural town the campground is adjacent to the city park. Sites are large enough for most sized RVs. Gravel roads and pads with backin sites angled smartly to the road and a few pull thrus too.
Winterset City Park Campground is located in the county seat of Madison County made famous by a 90's era book and movie glorifying an extra marital affair by a rural farm wife seduced by a dashing urban journalist. Despite the message of the movie the name is what sticks around, The Bridges of Madison County. One of those bridges is located right in this park as is an old looking stone bridge, a stone lookout tower, a couple miles of hiking and biking trails, playgrounds, ball fields, and a hedge maze.
Guests can easily walk in to the downtown area to visit the National Quilting Museum or the birthplace of John Wayne. Guests can also venture out to tower the other covered bridges in the area.
A grass tent area is available in a shaded setting. Two bath houses are available and do double as storm shelters. An onsite camphost helps manage sites and sell firewood. All the pull thru sites are partial hookups while some of the backins provide full hookups. Sites share a water spigot.
