Adinkerke is a village in the municipality of De Panne in western Belgium close to the French border. It forms a conurbation with the coastal town of De Panne, which in turn is part of the west Belgian coastal conurbation. Adinkerke railway station is also the western terminus of the Belgian coast tram line to De Panne; Nieuwpoort, Ostend and beyond. Near the city is Plopsaland, formerly Meli Park. Adinkerke Military Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission burial ground for the dead of the Western Front of the First and Second World War. The Lange Max Museum is devoted to the German 38 cm SK L/45 Max gun and the German occupation of Koekelare and the nearby area in World War I. The focus on the German side of the war makes it a unique museum in Belgium. The museum is named after the nickname of the German gun Lange Max, which was one of the biggest guns of the world in 1917 and located in Koekelare. The German war cemetery of Langemark is near the village of Langemark, part of the municipality of Langemark-Poelkapelle, in the Belgian province of West Flanders. More than 44,000 soldiers are buried here. The village was the scene of the first gas attacks by the German army in the western front , marking the beginning of the Second Battle of Ypres in April 1915. Heidi The Ride front seat on-ride 4K POV Plopsaland De Panne

This awesome wooden coaster is packed with pops of airtime and thrills! Built by Great Coasters International, Heidi The Ride is similar to White Lightning at Fun Spot America in Orlando. Make sure you watch until after the brake run to see the little video show.
Heidi The Ride is 2,027 feet (618m) long, is 72 feet (22m) high and reaches a top speed of 44 mph (71km/h). It opened in April 2017. Heidi is a character from Studio 100's portfolio.

Anubis front seat on-ride HD POV Plopsaland De Panne

Did you know that this Gerstlauer LSM (Linear Synchronous Motor) launched coaster is themed to a Dutch TV series by the same name, in which a group of teenagers search for a treasure at their boarding school? The coaster has three inversions and accelerates up to 56 mph in less than 2 seconds.

SuperSplash front seat on-ride HD POV Plopsaland De Panne

This Mack Rides SuperSplash attraction is themed to Piet Piraat (Peter Pirate), the Flemish children's TV program about a good-natured pirate who crosses the Seven Seas with his motley crew. The water ride, that opened in 2006, uses a rotating elevator rather a lift hill to get the boats to the top of the 98 foot tall tower.

Heidi The Ride Construction Tour - Plopsaland De Panne

Join the European Coaster Club for a tour of the construction of Heidi The Ride, a brand new wooden coaster from GCI at Plopsaland De Panne, Belgium. Heidi is almost identical in design to White Lightning at Fun Spot Orlando. The coaster opens later in 2016 although the theming will be added in 2017.

Kerststallentocht 2009 te Adinkerke

Sinds 10 jaar is er een unieke tocht naar 11 kerststallen in de diverse wijken van Adinkerke. De doelstelling van de tocht blijft onveranderd: de verbondenheid onder Adinkerkenaars en alle andere mensen van goede wil, verstevigen. De wandelaars werden tijdens hun tocht vergezeld van stemmige kerstliedjes. Aan de kerststalletjes waren er optredens van de Adinkerkse jeugd en van plaatselijke muzikanten.
De wijkverantwoordelijken van de kerststalletjes trakteerden de wandelaars op allerlei versnaperingen. Vele van die zaken waren kindergericht zodat ongeveer 1/3 van de deelnemers kinderen waren. (snoep, verhaaltjes, pannenkoeken, geschenkjes, wafeltjes, desserts...). Ook de grote mensen werden goed onthaald (soep, koffie, glühwein, Picon om af te sluiten met een jenevertje).

It was the weekend of the 70th anniversary of the evacuation of British and French troops from the beaches between Dunkirk and De Panne, in 1940, during the Second World War. I did not want to go to the ceremonies and so decided to pay my respects by taking a walk along the beach at De Panne on the Sunday.
