Crete | Agia Pelagia Beach. About 21 Km west of Heraklion, one can visit the beach of Agia Pelagia. You can get to this small village by car or more easily using the bus services from Heraklion.
There are many accommodation choices, taverns and restaurants, ATM's and super markets and all of them located within walking distance of the main beach of Agia Pelagia.
It is a narrow sandy beach with many sunbeds and umbrellas. The waters are shallow and the beach is often crowded.
Popular among locals who like to combine a swim with a tasty lunch or a cocktail in one of the beach bars, it is also a popular destination among tourists.
Make sure that you take a walk to Psaroumoura beach, which is a small distance away. Whether if you are the party type or you prefer a nice swim then Agia Pelagia is the place to be.

Ligaria is located 21km north west of Heraklion and 1km east of Agia Pelagia. The Bay of Ligaria is enclosed and well protected from the frequent northwest winds blowing in the region. Nearby survives the church of Panagia, that served as the monastery Panagia Ligariani in the past. The region gets its name after the monastery, which in turn gets its name from the beautiful plant “osier” (ligaria in Greek), with the flexible stems and the beautiful flowers, which abounds in the area. The beach is very beautiful with coarse sand and turquoise calm water, while the small boats create magic scenery. The east part is less protected from the waves and gathers more dirt. Instead, if you go to the west, the water is usually cleaner and sea is flat. Smooth rocks are just near the shore, in the water, except from the west part of Ligaria, where there are some small parts with sand. It is very well organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, water sports, a diving school, beach bars, restaurants and rooms.

Ο κόλπος της Λυγαριάς είναι κλειστός και προστατεύεται από τους ανέμους και τα συχνά καλοκαιρινά μελτέμια, γι αυτό και αποτελεί σχεδόν πάντα μία ασφαλή επιλογή για οικογένειες. Η παραλία είναι πολύ όμορφη με χοντρή άμμο και γαλαζοπράσινα ήρεμα νερά, ενώ τα καϊκάκια κάνουν το τοπίο μαγικό.
Αποτελεί μία αγαπημένη παραλία των ντόπιων, αφού σε αυτή συχνάζουν ζευγαράκια και οικογένειες που δε συμπαθούν τις μοδάτες και κοσμικές παραλίες της ανατολικής πλευράς του Ηρακλείου.
Ligaria to nazwa niewielkiej miejscowości wypoczynkowej, zatoki oraz plaży leżącej w pobliżu miejscowości Agia Pelagia i Heraklion. Malownicze położenie wśród wzgórz zachęca do długich spacerów, a miejscowe tawerny skuszą każdego smakowitymi zapachami.Miasteczko położone jest na niewielkich wzgórzach, co gwarantuje malownicze widoki na okolicę. Sezon letni na Krecie trwa od maja do października. Temperatury w lipcu i w sierpniu często przekraczają 30 °C, a temperatura wody wynosi nawet 26 °C. Mała plaża, niezwykle kameralna. Gwarantuje spokojny wypoczynek. Zejście do morza bardzo wygodne. Przy plaży kilka knajpek i sklepów, ale w niczym nie zakłócają błogiego klimatu. Zachwycające widoki ,czysta krystalicznie woda. Raj dla osób lubiących pływać i nurkować. Wrażenia podwodne są nie do opisania piękne.
Чистый пляж с развитой инфраструктурой, прозрачное, синее, красивейшее море . Любителям понырять можно это сделать около камней, там много рыбок. Можно прогуляться на соседний дикий каменный пляж и уединиться от людей.
Belle plage, plus petite que les autres mais ne perd pas son charme comparé aux autres. Très peu de vagues ce qui est agréable.
Sehr schöne kleine Bucht in der man gut schwimmen kann. Restaurants und Cafes laden zum verweilen ein. Schöne kleine und nicht zu überlaufene Bucht. Kleine freundliche Tavernen mit lecker griechischen Gerichten. Kostenfreie Parkplätze und gut zu erreichen.
