Miami Beach Views
The Beach Loop will take you from Central Station along the scenic Macarthur Causeway and all the way around the island of Miami Beach.
Enjoy the stunning views across to the islands and towards the imposing skyline of Downtown from the causeway. Marvel at Washington Avenue, Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive as we cruise alongside the palm trees and show you the best that South Beach has to offer.
South Beach
Hugely popular with American and foreign visitors alike, the southern part of the border island that separates Biscayne Bay from the Atlantic Ocean is known as South Beach and has all the parties, palm trees and iconic Art Deco buildings that immediately say Miami.
With literally hundreds of bars, nightclubs, restaurants, stores and hotels, South Beach is a real hub of entertainment; yet for those in search of a somewhat more serene cultural experience, the area also boasts a wealth of theatres, museums and historic sites.
And then of course there are the beautiful beaches. Soak up the sunshine, catch a tan with the locals, and look out for the ornamental neon-coloured lifeguard towers - designed by local artists - that adorn the shoreline.
MacArthur Causeway
Originally constructed in the 1920s and known as the County Causeway, the now considerably expanded six-lane MacArthur Causeway traverses Biscayne Bay, connecting mainland Miami to Miami Beach and the other islands.
Marvel at the imposing panorama of the Miami skyline, enjoy the tranquil vistas out across the water to Palm Island, Dodge Island and Star Island, and don't forget to keep an eye out for the Flagler Monument on Flagler Memorial Island.
Art Deco District
In 1979, Miami Beach's Art Deco Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Art Deco District is the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world and comprises hundreds of hotels, apartments and other structures erected between 1923 and 1943.
In the 1920s, Art Deco really appealed to Americans who loved its decadent, extravagant look -- qualities that their generation was keen to embrace. Different styles emerged: Miami Deco, Depression Moderne and Streamline Deco, to name but three.
And the appeal has endured; don't miss the US Post Office, Lincoln Theatre and Albion Hotel - all classic designs still thrilling to the eye.
It's not all Art Deco in the district though; look out for the Mediterranean Revival style of Española Way and the grand Casa Casuarina -- former home of fashion designer Gianni Versace.
Ocean Drive
The most famous street in all of Miami is Ocean Drive; a must-see for any visitor. Running down the East side of South Beach, it is lined with boutique hotels, bars, restaurants and lounges.
A fashion favourite in the early 90s, there are still a good number of modelling agencies along the street. Many aspiring models and fashionistas view Ocean Drive as one long catwalk. It's all about seeing and being seen, making this busy strip a great place for people-watching.
The street is dominated by the Streamline Moderne style; a subset of Art Deco architecture with long horizontal lines, curving forms and nautical themes. Head there after dark to see the striking buildings lit up in all their neon glory!

Niagara Falls Ontario
Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between Canada and the United States; more specifically, between the province of Ontario and the state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.
From largest to smallest, the three waterfalls are the Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and the Bridal Veil Falls. The Horseshoe Falls lie mostly on the Canadian side and the American Falls entirely on the American side, separated by Goat Island. The smaller Bridal Veil Falls are also on the American side, separated from the other waterfalls by Luna Island. The international boundary line was originally drawn through Horseshoe Falls in 1819, but the boundary has long been in dispute due to natural erosion and construction.
Located on the Niagara River, which drains Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, the combined falls form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world that has a vertical drop of more than 165 feet (50 m). Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful waterfall in North America, as measured by vertical height and flow rate. The falls are 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York, and 75 miles (121 km) south-southeast of Toronto, between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York.
Niagara Falls were formed when glaciers receded at the end of the Wisconsin glaciation (the last ice age), and water from the newly formed Great Lakes carved a path through the Niagara Escarpment en route to the Atlantic Ocean. While not exceptionally high, the Niagara Falls are very wide. More than six million cubic feet (168,000 m3) of water falls over the crest line every minute in high flow, and almost four million cubic feet (110,000 m3) on average.
The Niagara Falls are renowned both for their beauty and as a valuable source of hydroelectric power. Balancing recreational, commercial, and industrial uses has been a challenge for the stewards of the falls since the 19th century.
