VIENNA TRAVEL GUIDE:
We spend a day touring around Vienna and discovered some of the best things to do in the city in a day!
We started out on a run though the Schönbrunn Palace (summer palace), where we bought tickets to explore the beautiful gardens, but later discovered the free area behind the palace, including beautiful fountains.
Next up we visited the Naschmarkt where we tried some Austrian food including a type of sausage called Käsekrainer and apple strudel.
After the market we explored the city some some eventually coming across the famous church, St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
Lastly we took a walk along the Danube Canal where we encountered lots of streets art and interesting bars along the water.

Vienna:
Vienna has a long tradition in the European continent. It was first establish during the first century AD, when the Romans established the military camp Vindobona. Today the city is characterised by the abundance of baroque buildings created during the period of Empress Maria Theresa and Emperor Franz Joseph.
Vienna has more museums and galleries of international reputation than you can imagine. The museum of Fine Arts with the world’s largest collection of Bruegel paintings, MuseumQuartier with the Leopold Museum, the Museum Moderner Kunst, Architekturzentrum, and Kunsthalle Vienna is also known for the many celebrate composes who lived and worked here. Straub, Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn being some of the most important.
In Vienna, the old coffee house culture and rustic wine taverns stand alongside top restaurants and shops, and time-honored events alternate with internationally-acclaimed extravaganzas such as the Life Ball to create a unique and very special ambiance. All of this, plus plenty of greenspace and recreational areas including the Wienerwald, the Prater and the Danube Island make Vienna a very special city to visit.
Schonbrunn Palace, the former imperial summer residence, is one of Vienna's most popular sights. The sumptuous palace with its beautifully tended formal gardens, the Gloriette monument, Palm House and zoo attracts hordes of visitors each year. Then there is the huge Hofburg (Imperial Palace), which was the base of the Habsburgs for over six centuries.
Naschmarkt:Since the 16th century people in Austria has come to the Naschmarkt get to enjoy the many different products which would be brought here by vendors of the city farmers from the outside of the city, and those that came from overseas by boats and ships from different parts of the world that were once connected to the Austrian empire.
Today the market serves a wide variety of different purposes, serving not only the local residents of the area who come here to do their daily food shopping, but also visitors from around the globe who come to enjoy the main sights and sounds of the market.
St Stephen’s Cathedral: Visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral and you’ll be standing in the same church in which Joseph Haydn sang as a choir boy, and in which Mozart was married in 1782. From the very beginning, the cathedral has played an important part in Vienna’s spiritual and worldly affairs. Embark on a discovery tour of St. Stephen’s (or Steffl, as the Viennese lovingly call it), and as you uncover its hidden secrets, descend into its catacombs, and climb its lofty towers, you’ll also learn about the history of the city itself.
Danube Canal: The Donaukanal is a former arm of the river Danube, now regulated as a water channel, within the city of Vienna, Austria. It is 17.3 kilometres long and, unlike the Danube itself, it borders Vienna's city centre, Innere Stadt, where the Wien River flows into it.
