My name is Zahi Shaked
In 2000 I became a registered liscenced tourist guide.
My dedication in life is to pass on the ancient history of the Holy Land.
Following upon many years of travel around the world, which was highlighted by a very exciting emotional and soul-searching meeting with the Dalai Lama, I realized that I had a mission. To pass on the the history of the Holy Land, its religions, and in particular, the birth and development of Christianity.
In order to fulfill this calling in the best way possible, I studied in depth, visited, and personally experienced each and every important site of the ancient Christians. I studied for and received my first bachelors degree in the ancient history of the Holy Land, and am presently completing my studies for my second degree.(Masters)
Parralel to my studies, and in order to earn a living, I was employed for many years in advertising. What I learned there was how to attract the publics attention, generate and, increase interest, and assimilate information. All this I use as tools to describe, explain and deepen the interest in the sites that we visit. From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, glide over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and see the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.
Garden of Gethsemane
Gethsemane (Greek: Γεθσημανή, Gethsemane; Hebrew: גת שמנים, Gat Shmanim; Classical Syriac: ܓܕܣܡܢ, Gaḏ Šmānê, lit. oil press) is an urban garden at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, most famous as the place where Jesus prayed and his disciples slept the night before his crucifixion; i.e. the site recorded as where the agony in the garden took place.
Garden of Gethsemane, 1914
According to the New Testament it was a place that Jesus and his disciples customarily visited, which allowed Judas to find him on the night of his arrest.[5]
There are four[6] locations claimed to be the place where Jesus prayed on the night he was betrayed.
The Church of All Nations overlooking a garden with the Rock of the Agony.
The location near the Tomb of the Virgin Mary to the north.
The Greek Orthodox location to the east.
The Russian Orthodox orchard, next to the Church of Maria Magdalene.
William McClure Thomson, author of The Land and the Book, first published in 1880, wrote: When I first came to Jerusalem, and for many years afterward, this plot of ground was open to all whenever they chose to come and meditate beneath its very old olive trees. The Latins, however, have within the last few years succeeded in gaining sole possession, and have built a high wall around it. The Greeks have invented another site a little to the north of it. My own impression is that both are wrong. The position is too near the city, and so close to what must have always been the great thoroughfare eastward, that our Lord would scarcely have selected it for retirement on that dangerous and dismal night. I am inclined to place the garden in the secluded vale several hundred yards to the north-east of the present Gethsemane.[7]
All of the foregoing is based on long-held tradition and the conflating of the synoptic accounts of Mark (14:31) and Matthew (26:36) with the Johannine account (John 18:1). Mark and Matthew record that Jesus went to a place called the oil press (Gethsemane) and John states he went to a garden near the Kidron Valley. Modern scholarship acknowledges that the exact location of Gethsemane is unknown.[8]
Her heart’s set on natural childbirth, no matter what - Newborn Russia (E5)
Complete series:
27-year old, Yulia is expecting her first baby. She is determined to make childbirth as comfortable for the baby as she can and hopes to give birth naturally, avoiding the need for a C-section. She believes it will create a stronger bond between mother and child. As a pole dancing teacher, she thought her physical fitness would make the labour much easier. The reality proved very different as unexpected complications turned the experience into a long lasting ordeal.
Anna is also 27 and about to have her first child. She’s expecting a girl and throughout her pregnancy she’s talked to her baby. Now she believes the new born will recognise her voice, which will help them bond from the outset and she can’t wait to meet her daughter, Milana. The doctors are confident that Anna is well prepared to birth, both physically and emotionally. Anna admits that started going to antenatal classes, but never finished them. All she can remember is that when the baby is making its way into the world, she needs to listen to the doctors.
Where do Russians come from? In modern Russia, life usually begins at state-run maternity hospitals; it is up to these medical establishments to deliver new babies into the world. A WEEKEND GETAWAY FILLED WITH S3X, DR4GS, AND @LCOHOL
The infamous Sex Island event that went viral in 2018 is scheduled to take place in Nevada this year. It's a 4 day, 3 night getaway for $6,000. It's an all-inclusive event hosted by Good Girls Company that welcomes 50 guests to a weekend filled of salacious fun. Mostly men attend this event, but women and couples are welcomed. The event became known for its drug, sex, and alcohol fused debauchery. Each guest is assigned 2 women for the entire weekend. Those women are there to satisfy guests’ every need.
A past guest shared his experience with one newspaper, stating within 30 minutes of stepping onto the luxury yacht that charters guests to a private island, the orgies begin. He expressed that each guest was allowed one hour with 15 women. Articles alluded to a very popular Canadian rapper allegedly attending the event. Who do you think this rapper is?
The women providing services to guests at the past event were all Latin. Many of the attendees are married professionals looking for a quick getaway where they can let loose and be free.

Video Tour to Saint Alexander Nevsky Church Jerualem
Watch this Amazing Video of Saint Alexander Nevsky Church in Jerualem
The Russian Alexander Nevsky Church is one of the well known shrines within the Russian Orthodox complex of the city of Jerusalem, and it is popular for housing the remains of the 4th century Holy Sepulchre Church.
The name of the church was given by the Russian prince named Alexander Yaroulavitz who expelled Swedish and German invaders from Russia back in 1242 at the Battle of the Ice. The name Nevsky was derived from a river called Narva where the Swedish army was defeated.
Now let's enter the church. As we get further inside the church we can see to the right, an arch from a pagan temple built in the time of Emperor Hadrian who demolished Jerusalem. This arch is the remainder of a large Arch, one out of 4 that were built here in Jerusalem by the Roman Emperor Adrianos. Another famous arch of these 4 arches is the one at Ecce Homo at the beginning of the Via Dolorosa.
Now let's have a look at one of the most important discoveries of the excavations that took place in this church. Over there are the remains of massive walls from the time of King Herods, and an opening between them. Since we are not far from Calvary there is no doubt that this place was the Threshold of Judgment Gate which was the edge of the city walls in the time of Christ. To the left you can see a hole made in the wall for the stakes of the gate's doors -- this hole is called the Eye of Needle.
In front of us is a Crucifix fixed on a large stone from Calvary and below, enclosed by a wooden frame and covered with Glass, is a stone of an ancient road on which Jesus had walked as he exited the city walls to his crucifixion at Calvary. According to that, this should be the place of station number 7 of the Via Dolorosa where Jesus falls for the second time as he stumbled on the city wall thresholds.
Here on the wall next to this threshold we can see planks with names of people that have donated for the excavation in this place.
Now let's see one of the highlights of this church which is not yet open to the public, but you have the privilege to see it. Over there behind the excavation cover, there is a column which was part of the main entrance to the basilica of the Holy Sepulchre that was built by Constantine in 330 AD. The column is quite unique since it is made of black stone which is not available in the vicinity of Jerusalem; hence the stone was brought here from a distance to mark an important place. In Roman time, the main entrance to the basilica was part of the Roman Cardo -- the main road built by the Romans that crossed old Jerusalem. Today we can see remains of these columns, like the one at station number 7 of the via dolorosa, and others at the excavation site of the Cardo in the Jewish quarter -- you should notice that all the these columns are made of white stone.
Now let's get back to the center of the church. The Picture on this wall depicts Jesus walking with his cross as he exits the city walls - which was right here -- on the way to Golgotha.
From here we should enter the church that was built at the other side of this site. At the center of this Russian church there is a stone altar which was built over another stone altar that was found here, and was probably part of a chapel in the Constantinian Basilica in which several holy places were united under one roof.
Here is a tomb representing the holy sepulcher of Jesus, as is found in many Russian churches around the world.
High up along the walls of the church there are paintings of Christian saints, and below them, pictures of Jesus during his last day before his crucifixion. Here is Jesus during the Agony in Gethsemane and his arrest, Jesus along the Via Dolorosa, Jesus' body being prepared for burial, the angle tells Maria that the tomb is empty and here Jesus after his resurrection.
On the lower parts of the walls, we can see icons of Mary and her son, a picture of Jesus and a picture of Veronica with the image of Jesus on her Veil.

Paying over $3000 for $50 jackets! : Romania : 6 Feb 2019
#memories #souvenirs #haggling .
Reminded me of when I overpaid $125 worth (in Yuan) thinking I was only bribing the Thai policeman $30.
I've been watching this travel show on Netflix recently called Travels with my father by English comedian Jack Whitehall (Gemma Chan's spouse).
In this clip, Jack's father Michael makes a big mistake, and one that I have done myself on my travels on many occasions.
10,000 Hungarian Forint is equivalent to $49 Australian dollars.
However...
10,000 Romanian Leu is equivalent to $3,323 Australian dollars!
That is how much they paid for two of those furry jackets. Fuck indeed.
When I was bribing a Thai policeman in Krabi, I paid him off in Chinese Yuan because I did not have enough Thai Baht on me. This proved to be a big mistake as I did not do the correct math in my head when converting the figures.
I thought I paid him $30 to keep his official Royal Thai Police cap as a souvenir. I actually paid him $125. Fuck indeed
Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father
Comedy series
7.6/10 • IMDb
Comic Jack Whitehall and his father Michael are like an odd couple -- the son is jovial and the patriarch is stuffy. So traveling together makes for an interesting dynamic, as viewers experience in this travelogue series. Jack invites Michael to go with him on a trip through Southeast Asia in an attempt to try to strengthen their bond. Along the way, the Whitehalls partake in a number of unique experiences, including attending an elephant polo match in Bangkok and taking a primitive train ride in Cambodia. When it's over, the father and son reflect on the impact of their journey.
