Cabo Frio: Best beach in Brazil | travel vlog 2019
Cabo Frio again! This is my favorite road trip from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2019 video). Cabo Frio is 100 miles (160 km) from Rio, and in my opinion, this is the best beach in Brazil. Why? The color of the water is crystal clear, the sand is so white and fine, and the weather is great for most of the time.

► Cabo Frio: Cabo Frio is a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With no traffic, you can drive in two and a half hours (way more on holidays and weekends). It's famous for its white sand beaches with crystal clear and cold waters
► Praia do Forte (Forte Beach): This is Cabo Frio's most famous beach.
Overlooking the sea, on the far left, is 17th-century St Matthew fort with its rusted cannons. Entrance is free.

► Ilha do Japonês (Japanese island): Beautiful uninhabited island at the beginning of the canal which serves the region's Araruama lagoon. There's no infrastructure in the island, but more often than not there are vendors selling food and drinks. There's a kiosk in front of the island on the Peró side, and it's easy to walk across the sea during the low tide.
► Passagem: This is Cabo Frio's oldest area, now fully revitalized. The neighborhood features colonial houses, many of them are now bars and restaurants. From Passagem you can get the taxi-boat to Ilha do Japonês for 15 Brazilian Reais

This HD Video is Part 1 of 3 of a unique three-part series of Paul Hodge’s HD videos chronicling the amazing Saturday, February 7, 2015 10:20 am block party/parade celebration in Rio’s beautiful Leblon neighborhood. The three HD videos are chapters in Paul Hodge's incredible February/March, 2015 HD Video Book Rio Carnival 2015. Paul's book is the first ever HD video book published on YouTube with 85 chapters and 12+ hours of edited, original videos taken of the “Greatest Party on Earth”, Rio de Janeiro's Carnival 2015 Celebration from February 13 through February 18, 2015.
The Leblon block party/parade attracted 8,000+ celebrants. Located in Rio’s most affluent neighborhood, the Leblon Bloco included the standard sound truck playing songs by famous Brazilian composers. As Paul’s HD videos show, the parade also included a very lively percussion/drum section and many revelers. Given the location and morning timing, the Leblon Bloco is “family friendly”.
Leblon is the most affluent neighborhood in Rio with the neighboring Ipanema area being the second most affluent. The neighborhood is located in Rio’s South Zone, and it has the most expensive price per residential square foot in all of Latin America. Leblon is similar to Ipanema but even more exclusive, being the home of the “rich and famous”. The Leblon beach is quieter and more relaxed than the Ipanema Beach and it is well known for being a very cosmopolitan neighborhood with a lively nightlife.
To provide you with the best coverage on YouTube of Rio Carnival 2015, Paul Hodge arrived in Rio on February 5, 2015 so he could cover the seldom seen events leading up to the official Rio Carnival Celebration. By tradition, on the weekend before Rio Carnival, many Rio neighborhoods hosted Bloco (block) parties/parades to celebrate the coming of Rio Carnival. During Carnival 2015, there were over 450+ official Bloco parties with 600+ parades. On Saturday & Sunday, February 7 & 8, 2015, Paul covered four pre-Carnival Bloco parties in the diverse Rio neighborhoods of Santa Teresa, Leblon, Ipanema and Rio’s Centro District.
Of the 456 official licensed bloco parties in Rio, 111 took place before the official Rio Carnival 2015 on the weekend of February 7 & 8, 2015. These parties drew 800,000+ celebrants into the revelry. Most of the authorized blocos on this weekend were concentrated in the Zona Sul (South Zone) and Zona Norte (North Zone), where about thirty were held in each.
