Monolithos Castle - Rhodes, Greece
David's Been Here brings you all the top sites and main attractions on Greece's Island of Rhodes. Join David as he displays the unconquerable Monolithos Castle, standing strong for over 500 years. Built by the Knights of St. John in the 13th century, you can walk along this ancient fortification with its old castle walls, two small chapels and amazing views overlooking the sea. Though it's a must visit for anyone touring Rhodes, be sure to take care as you're exploring, as there are some dangerous loose stones and long drops. Drive up to this historic site along the coastal road from Monolithos town, and find all the island's top activities in the David's Been Here Guide to Rhodes, now available for your Kindle as well.
Kallithea, Athens
Kallithea (Greek: Καλλιθέα, meaning the best view) is the 8th largest municipality in Greece and the 4th biggest in the Athens urban area (following municipalities of Athens, Piraeus and Peristeri).
The site on which the city was developed covers the biggest part of the area to the south of Athens, protected in ancient times (5th century BC) by the Long Walls to the west and the Phalerum Wall to the east. Somewhere within this area the ancient town of Xypete lay. The town and its citizens are mentioned, among other places, in Plato's Dialogs.

Kesällä Ateenassa on mielestäni jopa liian kuuma.

Λέντας -Όστρια -Δισκός - Lentas - Ostria - Dyskos, Crete in 4K
Lendas is a remote coastal village located 74km south of Heraklion, on the southern slopes of the imposing Asterousia Mountains. It is a tourist resort, mildly developed, offering very relaxing holidays.
Lendas is built on the site of the ancient city Levina. The ancient city of Levina flourished in the Hellenistic and Roman Era as a harbor of Gortys, which was then the most powerful town of Crete.
On the east of Lentas, there is a spring of water, which was considered to have healing properties. Even today, studies have shown that the water is good in diseases of the stomach, blood and bleeding tendency. Thus, this spring was the cause for the construction of a huge temple, dedicated to the deified doctor Asclepius and Hygeia Sotira (4th century AC). The temple was renowned as a center of hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and psychiatry. Patients from distant areas, such as Libya, visited this place. From the temple, you can still see the altar, two marble columns and the base of a statue of Asclepius. On this site a Byzantine church was build using also materials from the sanctuary, dedicated to Agios Ioannis Theologos. Remains of Roman baths have been found in the area of the springs. Levina seems to have been abandoned in the 7th-8th century, possibly because of constant pirate raids.
