Hautefort : Village de Gites « Les Sources »

Le panoramearth est pris du bord de la D62E4, à l'entrée d'un village de gites (village de vacances) appelé « Les Sources ». D'après le sitte officiel - situé face au château de Hautefort en Périgord Noir, le village de gîtes « Les Sources » propose des hébergements tout confort au milieu d'un cadre de verdure avec piscine, jacuzzi, plan d'eau, aires de jeux, quad, paintball, randonnée, bar et restaurant. Au début de la vidéo on voit le parking du village et le village lui-même (apparemment une ancienne ferme et les gîtes construits devant). En contrebas, le plan d'eau (un petit étang artificiel récemment aménagé) et, au loin, une vue magnifique sur le majestueux château de Hautefort (zoom à la seconde 40 de la vidéo) et sa ville. Puis, le panorama se poursuit. A 1 minute 40 secondes, le panneau d'accueil du village de vacances et en arrière plan la route, la D62E4. De l'autre côté, à flanc de colline une belle maison récemment bâtie. Le château de Hautefort se distingue par ses caractéristiques atypiques. C'est un château classique perché sur un éperon rocheux. Les châteaux classiques généralement situés sur des plaines, s'ouvrent largement sur les jardins. Hautefort n'est pas une création ex-nihilo, c'est à l'origine une forteresse médiévale très probablement construite à l'emplacement d'un camp romain. Au 9e siècle, le castrum de Autafort, appartient aux puissants vicomtes de Limoges. L'importance stratégique de cette forteresse s'affirme pendant les guerres de Guyenne qui opposent les Plantagenêts aux Capétiens. Les propriétaires, Constantin et Bertran de Born, frères ennemis, supportent des camps différents. Le château subit alors plusieurs sièges dont celui de Richard Cœur de Lion en 1183, avant d'être relevé de ses ruines par Bertran de Born, le célèbre guerrier-troubadour. La forteresse médiévale se composait d'un donjon relié par des courtines à d'autres tours (Tour de la Palme, Tour Longue, Tour des Prisons...). Le château de Hautefort et l'ancien Hospice du village sont de rares exemples de l'architecture classique en Périgord. Si Hautefort tranche si radicalement avec l'architecture des châteaux de la région, forteresses du Moyen Age ou châteaux de la Renaissance aux puissants effets de masse, c'est qu'il n'a pas suivi la même histoire et qu'il appartient à un monde différent. L'ascension sociale des marquis de Hautefort les a conduit à vivre à la cour de France dans un milieu intellectuel et artistique différent de leur sphère originelle et c'est elle qui est la cause du caractère atypique de leur château dont la construction dura un siècle entier, de la fin du 16e à la fin du 17e siècle et fut menée par deux architectes étrangers au terroir, un Lorrain (Nicolas Rambourg) et un Parisien (Jacques Maigret) qui firent presque totalement table rase des bâtiments médiévaux. Le corps de bâtiment central, ponctué de part et d'autre d'un pavillon d'angle, est flanqué d'ailes en retour d'équerre. stretches from the Dune du Pilat to the north, near Arcachon, to the
Adour estuary at Bayonne, a natural playground of hundreds of
kilometres of ocean beach, forest trails and shimmering lakes,
interspersed with family-friendly resorts such as St Girons Plage,
Vieux Boucau and Moliets Plage and all-year-round towns such as Leon,
Capbreton, Soustons and Europe's undisputed surf capital, Hossegor. The
jewel in the crown is Biarritz ? chic and lively and adored by the
Parisians. And if all of that is not enough to keep you occupied, the
Spanish border and the ski stations of the Pyrenees are just a short
drive. A wide variety of water sports is available locally and there
are countless kilometres of cycle and walking trails. Golf and
horse-riding are also easily accessible. The vineyards of Bordeaux are
a pleasant day-trip away. Landais and Gascon cultures mingle towards
the north with the celebrated Bordelais cuisine and to the south, with
Basque and Spanish influences, making for great variety in the local
restaurant menus. The natural environment, range of activities and, of
course, exceptional beaches, make the Cte Landaise a fantastic holiday
destination. Access to the region is easy with flight connections to
numerous UK destinations from the nearby airports at Biarritz, Pau and
Bordeaux. For those who prefer a more leisurely progress, there is the
Portsmouth/Santander ferry or Eurostar from London connecting with the
TGV network to Bordeaux or Biarritz.
