    Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake in Banff National Park, 14 kilometres outside the Village of Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. It is situated in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, at an elevation of approximately 6,183 feet . The lake has a surface area of 50 hectares . The lake, being glacially fed, does not reach its crest until mid to late June. When it is full, it reflects a distinctive shade of blue. I decided to visit my friends from Holland who were exploring the Canadian Rockies with their RV, before chasing them down in Banff I treated myself on the most famous hot dog in Canada at Tubby Dog and tried to break the glass floor at the Calgary Tower.

It was such a memorable experience meeting my Dutch friends on the other side of the world so we decided to do it up proper with a family BBQ and a few local brewski's, namely the Powder Hound by The Grizzly Paw which is a local brewery in Canmore, Alberta.

On our first adventure we left in the early morning to take the Banff Gondola to Sulphur Mountain, one of the most mesmerizing views of Banff. Make sure to fill up prior on a classic Canadian breakfast at Tim Hortons, the Canadian way.

The next adventure was a private helicopter ride at Rockies Heli Canada who took us from Kananaskis through the Rocky Mountains. It was a gorgeous clear day which resulted in excellent video footage. We even saw the same river where they shot the movie: The Revenant.

What also amazed us were the buck loads of wildlife passing by the RV throughout our stay at Banff's tunnel mountain campgrounds.

In next week's article I will give you all the details on our adventure at Lake Louise were I completed an 11 hour, 20 kilometer hike, thus best is to relax and relieve your sore muscles at Banff Upper Hot Springs after that trip.

In conclusion we were very fortunate that we had excellent weather with blue skies the entire trip. I highly recommend visiting Calgary, Banff & Lake Louise in the first week of June for the best experience.

Landscape Photography - Banff National Park and Jasper National Park in 7 Days!

The Canadian Rockies had been on my list of places to photograph for many years. In June 2017, it finally became a reality. We decided to focus our 7 day landscape photography trip in Banff National Park and Jasper National Park. We had high expectations and were not disappointed with the amazing and diverse scenery that was seemingly found everywhere we explored. Since it was summer time, daylight lasted very long and we wanted to make the most of it! We averaged 19 hour days to catch both sunrise and sunset, always eager to experience the next location (and the journey to it!). In addition, Canada was celebrating their 150th Anniversary, so national park passes were on the house! These two parks were amazing to see, but are just a fraction of the beauty Alberta and Canada have to offer. We will definitely have to return and explore more! Hope you enjoy the video!
