Barasat the district town of 24pgs north district is one of the most prominent cities of WB. It is not only an important place of administration and communication but also can attract visitors for its historical and natural importance and beauties. Visitors can visit city like Barrackpore from Barasat also. Besides there are local pilgrimage spots like Aamdanga(which is very near to it) and Ganeshpur of Devpukur on Barasat-Barrackpore road also.

If you are in Barasat you can easily visit two places one is hestings house and another one is Siraj udayan or hatipukur park. The Hati Pukur Park was closed for many years. In this year it’s reopened for all with new gorgeous decorations, and attractions. The park is beside of Titumir bus terminus and Hastings house is opposite to the Barasat Kachari maidan.
We boarded from Sealdah station and reach Barasat railway station by local train. The journey time is approx. 45 minutes. I reach both places within 10 minutes by walking from the station

Taki Vromon, Taki Tourist Spot,
Taki is a small city in Hasnabad police district of Basirhat subdivision in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Taki is almost 70 km east of Kolkata and can be reached both by road and rail.
By bus
Kolkata bus route 252 runs from Esplanadein Kolkata , 79C runs from terminates in Shyambazar in North Kolkata .
The trip takes 2-3 hours.
By train
You can also reach Taki by train from Sealdah Station in North Kolkata via Barasat.
The Trip time is about 2 hrs . The local stop is Taki Station Road and from station it takes10-15 minutes to get from the station to the riverfront of taki rajbari ghat and guest houses by rickshaw,motor van,and toto.

west bengal chief minister mamata banerjee inaugerated the newest park of bengal last month. the name of this park is siraj uddan or siraj park. it is in barasat chapadali more. to enter this park you need to get a ticket of 15 rupees in its entrance.
in this beautiful park you will see a very big pond named Hatipukur.
this Hatipukur pond was created in the era of nawab siraj ud-daulah. it was made to serve water to the elephants and horses of nawab siraj.
right now this pond is the heart of this park and you will get chance for boating with safety life jacket only at 20 rupees.
people are coming from the various part of kolkata , barasat and barrackpore.

Happy Valley Park / An Ideal Picnic Spot near Barasat
Happy Valley Park is at Bira. Bira is a Railway station on Sealdah-Bongaon Section. One can go to the park by Auto or Toto directly. The distance is near about 3 kilometer from the railway station. If you go from Bira Railway station, you should cross Jassore Road at Bira Chowmatha. Then go just 1 kilometer towards Chakla or Bodor. You may see Rowtara High School on your left side. Just opposite, you may see a road. go straight half-kilometer through the road.
There are so many rides you can avail. All are paid rides. WaterBoats, Toy train, Merry-go-Round, Micky-mouse jumping station for the kids. You may taste 3D show also. The Park is beautiful due to various seasonal Flowers. There are many picnic spots in the Park. You have the choice fto book the spot in advance for picnic purpose.

The three villages, namely, Sutanati, Gobindapur and Kalikata joined to form Kolkata in 1698. It was called Calcutta and was the capital of India during the British rule til 1911. Great poet Rabindranath Tagore belonged to West Bengal. He won the Nobel Prize in literature in 1913 for his poetic composition Gitanjali.
