The Battle of Batoche was the decisive battle of the North-West Rebellion, which pitted the Canadian authorities against a force of indigenous and Métis people. Fought from May 9 to 12, 1885, at the ad hoc Provisional Government of Saskatchewan capital of Batoche, the greater numbers and superior firepower of General Frederick Middleton's force could not be successfully countered by the Métis, as had happened at the earlier Battle of Fish Creek, and the town was eventually captured. Prince Albert National Park encompasses 3,874 square kilometres in central Saskatchewan, Canada and is located 200 kilometres north of Saskatoon. Though declared a national park March 24, 1927, it had its official opening ceremonies on August 10, 1928 performed by Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King. The park is open all year but the most visited period is from May to September. Although named for the city, the park's main entrance is actually 80 km north of Prince Albert via Highways 2 and 263 which enters the park at its southeast corner. Little Manitou Lake is a small saltwater lake about 120 kilometres south-east of Saskatoon, Canada. The lake was formed by receding glaciers during the most recent ice age. It is fed by underground springs, and has a mineral content high in sodium, magnesium and potassium salts due to it being a terminal lake. The salt content of the water gives it a salinity about half of that of the Dead Sea , allowing bathers to float easily, and makes fish very easy to catch.

Across Canada many towns have erected over sized statues depicting what they believe to be an identifying mark of their town. Some of them are quite obvious, perhaps a statue symbolizing a local product or historical event. Some are down right bizarre. Venez découvrir l'histoire de Gravelbourg au côté de deux de ces habitants Réal Forest et Yvonne Marchand.

Gravelbourg est une ville qui fut construite en 1916. Elle est située le long d'un embranchement du chemin de fer du Canadien Pacifique, à 119 km au sud-ouest de Moose Jaw. La ville a été baptisée du nom du père Louis-Joseph-Pierre Gravel (1868-1926), missionnaire colonisateur qui s'y était établi en 1906 avec cinq frères et une soeur. Gravel a sollicité la venue d'autres immigrants du Québec et de francophones de la Nouvelle-Angleterre, espérant créer un certain nombre d'établissements français dans la région.
