Car Camera - Lincoln, NE - I-80: Beatrice to Waverly Interchanges . 2013 ( 州間高速道路80号線 )
This trip takes us on the majority of Interstate through Lincoln, Nebraska, U.S.A. In recent years, the city has expanded towards and somewhat around the Interstate, but for the most part I-80 goes around it. The Interstate is in it's last phase of being expanded to six lanes from Lincoln to Omaha - Lincoln is the last portion that needs to be completed... something like a 10+ year project! Yikes!!!
Back when they first began building the Interstate in the late 50's, I-80 was originally planned to skirt by downtown Lincoln following West O Street and what eventually became Interstate 180. Some people didn't like the idea of a busy interstate going through & ruining the big town feel that had Lincoln at that time, so instead I-80 was diverted NW toward the airport (I-180 was built in it's place to get to Downtown). I tell you, we'd love to have it now... it takes forever sometimes to get around the city (not complaining, though~)!
The speed of I-80 in the rural areas of Nebraska is normally 75mph (121kph). Please enjoy!
Interesting fact: I-80 is one of the few major east-west Interstate corridors in the U.S. Beginning next to Manhattan Island on the east, going through (or by) a number of major cities along it's path (including Chicago, Salt Lake City, Des Moines, the Quad Cities, Toledo, Cleveland, Sacramento, Omaha and Oakland) and ending across the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in San Francisco on the west.
This is a continuation of the video Car Camera - Lincoln, NE - U.S. 77: Rosa Parks Way to the West I-80 I/c(s) . 2014 for U.S. Hwy. 77 (beginning at 1:17 in this video), which can be seen here:

Car Camera - Lincoln, NE - Vets Hospital to I-80/U.S. 77 North Interchange . 2013 ( ネブラスカ州リンカーン )
City time! Under rush hour traffic and skies that threat of rain, we travel along a busy thoroughfare, from Lincoln, Nebraska, U.S.A.'s east-central side to the north entrance of Lincoln.
We begin at O Street, Lincoln's central, main street on 70th Street and head straight north. One of my favorite things here in the city is the beginning portion of N. 70th between O and Vine Streets. The houses along here are 1950's prefab houses, so you have the low-slanted roofs, car ports, goofy windows, etc. Most if not all are in great shape yet to this day!
We reach N. 70h and Vine where the former small town of Meadow Lane used to be... now a shopping center. A bit further north yet and we go through areas that used to be be the former small towns of Bethany and Havelock. Pretty much all of the areas in this part of town are residential... like small towns in a small city!
...until we get to Havelock Avenue. Just past Havelock Ave., on the left, is BNSF Railway's Havelock Yard, a major repair shop hub for the BNSF system. All we can really see here is he rows of train cars, but the shop takes up a good chunk of land! Then into industrial. A fun place sometimes to go by is Cleaver Brooks and the Deeter Foundry... sometimes you can see the biggest things made roll out of these places!
A little further north, going into the countryside, is the Abbott Sports Center where the University of Nebraska at Lincoln's Soccer Team used to play... not sure if they still do (new field elsewhere?). Lincoln Electric System's (LES) two wind turbines sit straight ahead, but unfortunately today they are still :( (they were the first wind turbines in the state years ago).
A left turn back into Lincoln and we run into more commercial/industrial development (where the pot holes from semis are as big as chuck holes!)... and finally Interstate 80 where U.S. Highway 77 overlaps west and goes north towards Wahoo.
A nice ride for a beautiful day (I like the rain). Please never mind the two bird droppings on my front hood. Sorry about some of the focusing problems... should have used my windshield wipers ~_~ . Anyways, please enjoy!
Timeline:
00:19 - Northbound on S. 70th Street.
00:36 - O Street intersection (U.S. Highway 34). Here, 70th St. continues at N. 70th Street.
00:51 - Dead Man's Run flows underneath the street here (culvert).
1:58 - Vine Street intersection. The former small town of Meadow Lane once was here.
4:18 - The Northeast YMCA can be seen on the left.
6:02 - Fremont Street intersection. Mahoney Park is on the right.
7:36 - Burlington Avenue intersection. The BNSF Railway's Havelock Yard is on the left.
9:09 - Cornhusker Highway (U.S. Highway 6) intersection.
11:06 - Salt Creek bridge. The beginnings of Abbott Sports Center can be seen on the right across the bridge.
11:35 - Lincoln City Limits (leaving Lincoln). LES's wind turbines are barely visible just beyond the trees ahead before we turn.
11:56 - Westbound on Arbor Road.
12:24 - Lincoln City Limits (entering Lincoln again).
13:24 - Northbound on N. 56th Street (State Link L55X North).
13:29 - Interstate 80/U.S. Highway 77 North Interchange.
13:35 - I-80 East on and off-ramps. State Link L55X North ends, U.S. Hwy. 77 North comes off of the interstate off-ramp, enters and heads north from here (goes straight ahead). Now on U.S. Hwy. 77 North.
13:53 - I-80 West on and off-ramps. U.S. Hwy. 77 South turns west onto the interstate on-ramp here and follows I-80 through the city. State Link L55X South begins here and heads south (behind us).
14:00 - Southbound N. 56th Street (State Link L55X South).
14:15 - I-80 East (U.S. 77 North) on and off-ramps again.

Car Camera - Lincoln, NE - UNL City Campus to Cotner Terrace . 2013 ( ネブラスカ州リンカーン市 )
On today's journey, we begin on the easterly outer roads of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln's City Campus. As we wind around, we cross the Antelope Valley Project and into the inner parts of Lincoln, Nebraska, U.S.A. Partway through, we drive by UNL's other component, the East (Agriculture) Campus. Further east yet, we go through the business district of the former small town of Bethany (which Lincoln swallowed up) and end just into what would be considered the former small town to the north, Havelock.
U.S. Highway 6 and after it was realigned City Route 6 once ran along Cotner Boulevard, a stretch that we go on. Also, U.S. Highway 77 used to run along the stretch of Holdrege Street that we go on along the south edge of East Campus. This was the first paved road in the state of Nebraska... a long time ago ;) !
Looking at the roads around city campus... they aren't in the best of shape. For years the city and UNL has planned on making many of these roads pedestrian corridors. Hasn't happened yet :p . Not much investment into these soon-to-be no more streets with cobblestone beneath most of the asphalt has led to disrepair. Budget cuts? Who knows. I just know that I always have to dodge potholes whenever I drive in this area (but I do like cobblestone!).~
Please enjoy!
(also, apologize for the stabilization-rendering movement with the video on Cotner Blvd.)

00:41 - Westbound on Vine Street. Entering UNL.

1:51 - The Colosseum is the building with the arched roof that can be seen on the right directly in front of Memorial Stadium.
2:15 - Northbound on N. 14th Street. The Campus Recreation Center complex is the second building on the left. UNL's steam power plant is the third building and fourth structure after the Rec Center.
2:36 - Eastbound on W Street. Mabel Lee Fields is on the right.
3:25 - Northbound on N. 16th Street.
3:33 - Eastbound on X Street.
3:44 - X Street turns into N. 17th Street here.
4:02 - Antelope Creek bridge. The Antelope Valley Bicycle Trail runs underneath.
