Vaidyanatheshwara Temple | Talakadu, Mysore, Karnataka
Talakadu is a desert like place on the bank of kaveri river in Mysore district of Indian state Karnataka. Talakadu is 45 km from Mysore and approximately 130 km from the city Bengaluru.
Talakadu is known for the Temples and once it had over 30 temples, most of which now hidden beneath the layers of sand. In this video I'll take you through Vaidyanatheshwara Temple excavated in year 1911.
Vaidyanatheswara temple is one of panchalinga temples in Talakadu dedicated to Hindu God Shiva said to be built between 10th - 14th century.

Manipur has good roads here - driving in north-east India
Good roads are indispensable for the development of tourism. Good roads not only in Imphal but in all parts of the State. One cannot deny the fact that some roads of Imphal city have undergone significant changes during the past decade or so. The mega sewerage project considerably affected the road development process in the city.
Imphal city is the centre of all cultural, commercial and political activities of the state. Road Trip to Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta
Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta, is a hill (betta in Kannada) located in the Chamarajanagar district of the state of Karnataka,at a height of 1450m India and is extensively wooded. It is also the highest peak in the Bandipur National Park. It is approximately 220 km from Bangalore and 75 km from Mysore on the Mysore Ooty road -10 km away from Gundlupet, which is 60 km away from Mysore. There is a motorable road all the way to the top of the hill. Entry fee is collected at the forest department check post at foot of the hill. Materials used for pooja (prayers) alone such as flowers, fruits, Incense sticks etc. are permitted. Other food items are not permitted to be carried in. All these materials should be carried in non-plastic bags.
Entry fee has been revised w.e.f. February 1, 2011. Entry fee is flat Rs 25,50 for two- and four-wheelers. You have to report back at the entrance after 1 hour 30 minutes. Visitors are allowed from around 8:30am till 4pm. Overnight stay on top is not allowed. The only problem when you reach there is the unavailability of comfort station. You have to do your thing in the bush lol. Being a cold place, it is guaranteed that you'll have to pee somewhere, especially if you have been driving long. And don't add this as a primary destination, you should visit this place if you are going to places nearby. Come here in the winter don't visit this place in the summer, i made that mistake and the whole place was dry. If you want to see the greenery, come in November-February.
[GoPro]- Ride to Gundal Dam on Royal Enfield Himalayan | Adhvagat
Gundal dam is around 160 km from Bangalore and 80 km from Mysore. Its located 4.5km from Kollegal on the Satyamangal road. Best time to visit is from August to March.

While going you can take the Bangalore Mysore highway and turn at Maddur towards Malavalli. At Malavalli continue straight on the Mandya-Belakavadi road till Kollegala and use Google maps from there to reach the place. ( There are two routes to Gundal Dam and one of them takes you on a off road path for around 3-4km).
While heading back to Bangalore you can take the Kanakapura Bangalore road.
The dam is situated to next to the forest reserve so it's provides a good view and since very less people visit this place its really peaceful.
Others places you can visit along the way -
Gaganachukki and Barachukki falls.
Taksham Monastery, Dhondenling(one more amazing place).
If your heading to B.R Hills then you can visit Gundal dam on the way.
Our trip plan-
We left Bangalore at 5am and reached Maddur by 7 and had breakfast at the famous Maddur Tiffany's and then went Gaganchukki falls. We skipped Barachukki falls as there was no water and headed straight to Gundal dam. Spent an hour and half in the dam and from there we went to Taksham Monastery and then headed back to Bangalore via Kanakpurra road. We had our lunch at some small hotel in Dhondenling and reached Bangalore by 6pm.
Total distance covered was 400km. 3 people had went in two bikes.
Petrol- 1000 per bike.
Food- 250 per person.

Talakkad (Talakadu) Panchalinga temples 2
Several temples have been excavated from sand. Folklore suggests that the area was covered by sand following a woman's curse.
Brahmagiri
The spread of this mountain is parallel to the “Tribakeshwar City” in the foreground and it is surrounded by numerous lakes from all the sides.The view from any angle was amazing and it’s not really easy for even a panorama shot to capture all that beauty.
Mudukuthore Mallikarjuna Temple
Mallikarjuna temple is an ancient temple on a hill in Mudukuthore about 5 kms from Talakadu. You have to climb about 100 steps to reach the temple on the hill. There are temples of Mallikarjuna, Bhramarambha, Ganesh and other Gods and Goddesses on the hill top. The views around the hill are extremely beautiful. It is worth visiting if you are going to Talakadu.
Shivanasamudra - GaganaChukki and BharaChukki falls
Shivanasamudra Waterfalls are situated in Chamaraja Nagar District, at a distance of around 120 km from Bangalore. Route: Bangalore - Kanakapura - Malavalli - Shivanasamudra.
The island town of Shivanasamudra divides the Kaveri river into western and eastern branches. This creates the fourth largest island in the rivers course. The western branch results in the twin waterfalls of Gaganachukki, whereas the eastern branch results in the Bharachukki falls.
Gaganachukki :-
The twin falls of Gaganachukki are best viewed from the Shivanasamudra watch tower. Asia's first hydroelectric power station was set up at this waterfall in the year 1905 and is still functional. The electricity produced here was mainly used to light up the Gold Mines of Kolar, making Kolar the first Asian city to receive hydro electricity.
Bharachukki :-
The waterfall has a fluid and graceful cascade along the side. Round boats are available here which will take you for a ride near the fall.
