The Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site is the site of a pre-Columbian Native American city directly across the Mississippi River from modern St. Louis, Missouri. This historic park lies in southern Illinois between East St. Louis and Collinsville. Michigan City is located in the northwest corner of Indiana right along Lake Michigan between St. Joseph, MI and Gary, IN (about an hour east of Chicago). I take a drive into downtown Michigan City, IN, drive around the downtown area, and then make my way back to I-94.
