Dublin, Ireland
Dublin meaning town of the hurdled ford, is the capital city of Ireland. The English name for the city is derived from the Irish name Dubhlinn, meaning black pool. Dublin is situated near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey and the centre of the Dublin Region.
Originally founded as a Viking settlement in the 9th century, it evolved into the Kingdom of Dublin and became the island's principal city following the Norman invasion. Following the partition of Ireland in 1922, the new parliament, the Oireachtas, was located in Leinster House. Dublin became the capital of the Irish Free State and later the Republic of Ireland.

Shopping Areas in Dublin, Ireland
World Travel
Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of Dublin's shopping areas including the renowned Grafton street.
Discover Dublin's Shopping Areas in Ireland
Numerous old buildings have remained from the 1700's, for example the museum, the chapel, the dining hall and the examination hall, the Berkeley library and the Douglas Hyde Gallery are located in the modern Annex on the no sell street side.
The Enormous Park provides recreation, relaxation and sport possibilities. The Irish Parliament is presently in session in the Leinster House. Originally the Parliament was located in a building which is now the head quarters of the Irish Bank. This was the first building in Europe to be constructed for use as Parliament. The middle part was planned by Edward Lovett Pearce. After Irene became part of Britain in 1800, the parliament was dissolved.
The Irish Bank bought the building and assigned the architect James Gandon with the transformation. It was then that the eastern portal and the arch's dividing wall connecting foster place to the building were built.
Grafton Street is one of the city shopping streets, at the beginning stands of statue of Molly Malone whose known not only from folk songs. She was living person who sold not only her wears but herself as well. Even today Grafton Street has a bohemian unvital atmosphere. Comedians, clowns and musicians entertain customers and friend of the pubs.
Here stand the most fashionable department store of the city, Brown Thomas and the most season old pubs Bewley's Oriental Café. There's not a famous Irish person who hasn't yet visited the 150 year old building especially the big hall on the ground floor has preserved has it's Victorian atmosphere.
The figs of the park is continuously use as a sight art exhibitions. Painters work here and sale their works at the most various styles and genres. Among the paintings we can find a lot of landscape of Ireland or Dublin.
Here can be seen the most popular shopping center at the town, the Glass Tombs Saint Steven Screen Shopping Center. On the northern side of the square on the boardwalk the Shelbourne Hotel, the most seasoned old hotel at the city is located and also several clubs can be found here. The old market hall is home to a so called second hand market where we can also buy a paintings and souvenirs.
