One of the great activities that you can enjoy while in Lucerne, Switzerland is cruise on Lake Lucerne and visit Mt. Rigi. You take the boat over to Weggis and go up the mountain to Rigi by cablecar.
Please subscribe:
Switzerland playlist At the top you can walk around and enjoy the views, then take a rack railway back down to Vitznau, finally catching the next boat for a return journey back to Lucerne.
The other great mountain to visit near Lucerne is Pilatus, easily reached by boat and rail, and an enjoyable option to consider on your way to Pilatus is a stop at Bürgenstock. It's a small mountain plateau with a dramatic cliff-hugging walking trail. Most of the boats to Pilatus stop here en-route so hop off at the Bürgenstock dock, ride the funky old-fashioned funicular to the top and start hiking, following the signs to the cliff walk. This is a level path with sweeping views across the lake and at the rock face of the mountain, looking straight down about 1000 feet. You can have snacks or a meal at the restaurant other attractions on the plateau, which include more hiking trails through the forest, several newly-built deluxe hotels and a nine-hole golf course.
From Bürgenstock continue by boat and rack rail ride to the top of Mount Pilatus. You take the boat to Alpnachstad, one hour and 10 minutes, and then you ride up the world's steepest cogwheel railway to the top of Pilatus for sweeping view of the lake.
They do have a lovely rustic restaurant at the top and there's even a hotel up there that you could spend the night at. You can return back down the same way on the rack railway or for a slightly faster alternative with a totally different routing and some variety, take the cable car down the backside of the mountain to Lucerne.

How to spend 1 day in Lucerne | SWITZERLAND Travel Vlog

I wanted to visit Lucerne since the first time I saw the wooden bridges in a tv show.. to me they seemed fo fascinating.
And they didn't disappoint:) I had very few disappointments an this trip really.. everything looked as nice as on pictures.. even better live:)
My sister went home so I explored this beautiful city on my own and it was easily done in a day. You could of course spend longer and go more in debt, but I did't have the time, as I made Lucerne a stop on one of my train travel days.
In the 5 hours I spent here I saw the famous wooden bridges and of course the chapel bridge. The old town and old town wall and towers. And had a personal little memorial for my grandmother at the Lion Memorial( löwendenkmal )

Voice-over:
And they’re almost here! Just some last preparations before we’re up for the highest peak of this Canton, it’s Titlis glacier mountain.
As soon as you leave the big cities, you’ll hear the mountains have their own sounds to tell ther stories. Using different words when you get closer and closer to the top.
The last stage of this trip includes the famous revolving gondola. Allowing you to have a 360 degrees view over the surroundings.
Well that is possible, cause this spot is very popular on the other side of the world. And before we see more from the glacier on top, we dive right into it!
This 150 meter long, man made cave, is a unique way to experience the millions tons of ice. But also notice…
But hey, no worries! If the glacier won’t break down on you, there is always an other neck breaking attraction. How about a little suspension bridge, at only 3 kilometers above sea level…?
Oh well, at least you can share your fear with a lot of others. And..
Yeah, it is. But we’ll stay in the mist just a little longer. It makes the ice flyer even more mysterious..
Such a shame, because normally the view looks like this…
Well all in all it’s more than enough adventures for one day. Let’s get some sleep for an exciting day tomorrow.
Starting off at Trubsee, the four lake trail is one of the most beautiful hikes of central Switzerland. You can take the whole journey by foot or cheat a littlebit.
After the second cable car you’ll arrive at Engstlen lake. Where the most impressive and part of this hike is just about to begin.
After the second lake you’ll have to get over the mountain to the other side. Be sure you check the weather before you go, if this is what you want to see.

LUCERNE Travel Guide, 5 best places in lucerne switzerland !!
lucerne travel guide, 5 best places in lucerne switzerland.
This video contains information about
lucerne switzerland,
lucerne travel guide,
things to do in lucerne,
best places in lucerne, that you must visit.
--------------------------------------
this is 5 tourist attractions in lucerne.
5. Old Town
One of the main reasons that Lucerne attracts so many travelers is its small but remarkably preserved old town.
The Old Town is a delightful place to stroll, especially if you follow some of the narrow side streets.
4. Pilatus
Pilatus is a mountain massif. It is composed of several peaks, of which the highest (2,128 m (6,982 ft)) is named Tomlishorn.
A few different local legends about the origin of the name exist. One claims that Pilatus was named so because Pontius Pilate was buried there.
3. Chapel Bridge
It is a covered wooden footbridge spanning diagonally across the Reuss in the city of Lucerne. It serves as the city's symbol.
The bridge is unique because it contains a number of interior paintings dating back to the 17th century.
2. Lion Monument
It is a rock relief. It commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution.
Mark Twain praised the sculpture of a mortally-wounded lion as the most mournful and moving piece of stone in the world.
1. Lake Lucerne
Lake Lucerne is a lake in central Switzerland and the fourth largest in the country.
The lake has a complicated shape, with several sharp bends and four arms.

Lucerne Switzerland Travel Guide
A travel guide for visiting Lucerne in Switzerland. 9 of the best things to do in Lucerne including: Lucerne Railway Station, Lucerne Lion Monument, Glacier Garden, Bourbaki Panorama, Chapel Bridge, Lucernes Old Town, City Walls & Clock Tower, Stadkeller Restaurant, Mt. Pilatus Day Trip.
Lucerne has a very impressive main train station. It's been rebuilt, the facade of the old one is still here. But you'll find the train station will be your most convenient way to get in and out of Lucerne. There are tons of shops in it, and also the jumping off point for most buses that take you around the city. And the ferries that'll take you on the Golden Round Trip. And, as you can see by the departure sign, they have a lot of departures out of the station. The basement level of the train station is also home to one of Lucerne's latest open supermarkets. This Coop is open 'til 10pm everyday. It's also a great place to get chocolate, at Laderach. And cheap eats, if all those expensive places in the city have got you wallet broke, check out the Currywurst right here. Next to the train station, in this big, black, modern-looking building, that almost looks like a UFO landed, is Lucerne's Concert Hall and Art Museum. If you're a Star Trek fan, this building might remind you of the Borg cube, kinda looks like to me.
The biggest attraction in Lucerne, one 'cause it's big, and two 'cause this is where everybody comes, is the Lion Monument. This is a monument depicting the Swiss troops who died in 1792, in the French Revolution. It is a pretty sad lion, he's been impaled by a spear, and he's covering a shield over there, that depicts the French Monarchy. While it may not be the best attraction in Lucerne, 'cause it's certainly not the happiest, it is one that you have to come and see because everybody comes to see the sad lion. If you've watched any other of my Switzerland videos, you'll know I talk a lot about the fountains, and this city is no exception. In Lucerne, they have over 200 public fountains with running water from the mountains, tastes just like cold, refreshing Evian water. If you're thirsty, just come up to one of these fountains and you can use it, get some water, or maybe even wash your hands.
Just above the Lion Monument is the Glacier Garden. It's a natural rock formation that happened when glaciers moved over this part of Lucerne, many, many years ago. One of the interesting things that happens when glaciers go, you can see the scrape marks, but behind me there's also these potholes. There's a little one back here but there's a big one back there that's like nine meters deep. It's caused by the force of the water underneath the glacier. There's also a Glacier Museum, and a House of Mirrors. Admission's a little steep, but if you have the Swiss travel pass admission's free. The Hall of Mirrors, I'll say is very cool, because in this room it has the Alhambra Fountain in it. How many of me can you count? And no, this is not a special effect, this is really what this room looks like.
After you visit the Lion Monument, if you want some culture in the form of a big painting, you can visit the Bourbaki Panorama. It's in this nondescript building here, it is a 10 meter high, by 112 meter wrap around panoramic painting that is of the French internment, where the French army was interned in Switzerland back in 1891. It's very interesting, if you have the Swiss pass it's free, if not it's a small admission fee, just note that there's no air conditioning, so if it's hot then it's quite a heat wave inside.
