Hi friends , If you are planning to visit Kumaon , Chaukori is one of the best place to visit . it is a hill station at altitude of 6590 ft in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand, India. To its north is Tibet and to its south is Terai. The Mahakali River, running along its eastern boundary, forms the Indo-Nepal international border.
It is well connected with Motorable roads to all major destinations in Kumaon.

The closest railhead is 198 km at Kathgodam.
Chaukori offers a spectacular view of the gorgeous Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, Trisul , Choukhamba and the Panchachuli peaks. One of the most magnificent aspects of holidaying in Chaukori is the fabulous sunrise and sunset that you are treated to. The night sky is studded with a million stars that simply take your breath away.

Apart from KMVN government guesthouse, Hotel Sadbhavana is one of the best economy but with good facilities hotels in Chaukori . All rooms offers view of famous Himalayan peaks. The rooms are quite big , clean and attached bathroom with individual geezer for 24 hours hot water. Offered foods are also quite good.
There is a big grass lawn & garden in Hotel sadbhavna which offers leisure sun bath with spectacular view of Himalayan snow peaks & greenery .

Best Season / Best Time to Visit Chaukori
Summers in Chaukori are moderate, and the maximum temperature during the summer months will be around twenty five degrees (25°C). The minimum temperature during the summer months will be around seventeen degrees (17°C). This is a good time to visit the place, given the pleasant weather that will be ideal for sightseeing purposes. The months of April, May and June are the summer months.
Winters in Chaukori are cold, with a maximum temperature of around ten degrees (10°C) and a minimum temperature of around two degrees (2°C). The months of October, November, December, January and February are the winter months in Chaukori. You should carry heavy winter clothing during this time due to the reduced temperatures.
The monsoon season brings heavy rainfall, during the months of July, August and September. This is not an ideal time to visit the place.

MUNSIYARI UTTARAKHAND TRIP | BEST VISIT PLACE IN INDIA | SCENIC HILL STATION
Munsiyari situated in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state is one of the most scenic hill stations in India nestled in the snow capped peaks of the Kumaon Himalayan range.
Every road trip in and around Munsiyari offer splendid vistas of natural beauty and stunning landscapes. Perched at an altitude of 2298mts above sea level Munsiyari literally translated means place with snow, and is also referred as Little Kashmir.
Mountain ranges of various shades and color, wide open valleys, winding roads with pine and deciduous trees undoubtedly makes Munshiyari one the most picturesque tourist location of India.
Munsiyari offers mind-blowing views of snow capped Panchachuli Himalayan range. Panchchuli is a group of five peaks and is the star attraction at Munsiyari.
Birthi waterfalls located 14km from Munsiyari is a place of pristine natural beauty and a major tourist attraction. The 400 feet steep waterfall is undoubtedly the highest in Uttarakhand.
Nanda Devi temple dedicated to Goddess Nanda or Parvati is a Hindu sacred site where the faith of many devotees abides. A short 3 km stimulating trek from Munsiyari town one can savor some breathtaking views of the Panchachuli Himalayan range from here.
Khaliya top, known to be the highest point in Munsiyari is situated an altitude of around 3500 meters from where one can enjoy spectacular views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks including Panchachuli, Nanda Devi, Hardeol, Rajrambha and also the Milam valley.

Kausani is a small Hill town in the Bageshwar District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand. The views from the Town is so beautiful, that once Mahatama Gandhi called the place Switzerland of India during his brief stay at the Town. The town is very peacefull and one can enjoy the beautiful view of the Himalayas from almost any part of the Town.
The temperature is pleasant in the summer months and extremely cold in the winter seasons. One can do trekking in the various surroundings around Kausani. The panoramic view of the Nanda Devi Biosphere from a distance of 300 kms away is simply breathtaking.
Get around
Gandhi Ashram is the most sought after place by the tourists. This is the place where Mahatma Gandhi stayed briefly and written the 'Anashakti Yog'. The Ashram is situated on the upper part of the Town. Inside the Ashram, (Photography not allowed) consists of various pictures of the great leader in differenet phases of his life. The view of the Himalayas can be viewed from this Ashram also is quite splendid.
Baijnath Temple, situated around 20 kms north from Kausani Town and is a series of small / big temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Feeding the fishes just beside the temple is considered a ritual after offering your pujas.
If you have time in hour hand, half a day may be reserved for Rudradhari. It is 20 kms away from Kausani, and a unique experience of 1 Km trekking through the mountains and beautiful scenary to reach the century old Lord Shiva temple.

Chaukori is located 112 kilometer away from Pithoragarh. This place is also famous for Tea gardens which were started by British. There is a tourist guest house by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam.
A hilly village in the district of Pithoragarh in the Uttarakhand state, Chaukori is a lesser known tourist destination. Perched in a valley and surrounded by the high mountains of the Kumaon region, this village features nature's blissful landscapes, unpolluted and quiet. Chaukori is located at the Indo-Tibetan (in the north) and Indo-Nepal (in the south) boundaries. The scenic Greater Himalayan peaks of Nanda Kot, Panchchuli, Nanda Khat and Nanda Devi are visible from here.
Munsiari is situated on the banks of river Gauri Ganga and it is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. It is also the base camp for Milam glacier trek
Chaukori is nothing like a typical hill station as there are no sightseeing spots inside the village, except for the panoramic and breathtaking Himalayan views, and no market place either. All you can expect is to relax for a few days taking long walks amidst the forest of deodars, rhododendrons, spruce, oaks and pine trees, listening to the chirping of the birds and feeling the fresh air.

The four of us took a short weekend road trip to Chaukori, which is around 500 km and a 13 hour drive from Delhi.
We started at 10 PM on Friday and reached Chaukori around 12 Noon on Saturday.
It was raining the whole time we were there, hence couldn't really explore much, however the drive itself was very peaceful and calming. With greenery all around and no tourists, we had a great time.
