10. Zürich Lifestyle
Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland by land area and population. It is the financial centre of Switzerland and houses the stock exchange and the headquarters of a large number of national and international companies. National and international media agencies as well as most of the national TV channel companies are also located here.
9. Lakeside Lucerne
Lucerne is a beautiful small city in the heartland of Switzerland, across the lake from Altdorf, where legend has it William Tell shot an apple off of his son's head. In addition to being a fine place to visit in and of itself Lucerne is a great base from which to explore famous Swiss sites such as Mount Rigi, Pilatus, Titlis and the Rütli Meadow.
8. Epic Outdoors
No trio are more immortalised in mountaineering legend than Switzerland's 'big three' -- Eiger (Ogre), Mönch (Monk) and Jungfrau (Virgin) - peaks that soar to the sky above the traditional 19th-century resort of gorgeous old Grindelwald. And whether you choose to schuss around on skis, shoot down Europe's longest toboggan run on the back of an old-fashioned sledge, bungee-jump in the Gletscherschlucht or ride the train up to Europe's highest station at 3454m, your heart will thump.
7. Capital Bern
Berne, the capital of Switzerland, is a small to medium sized city with a population of about 130,000 in the city proper and roughly 350,000 in the agglomeration area. It sits on a peninsula formed by the meandering turns of the river Aare. The remarkable design coherence of the Berne's old town has earned it a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
6. Romance in Montreux
Mostly known for its world-famous two week long Jazz Festival (a bit of a misnomer: you're just as likely to catch David Bowie or Beck as, say Steve Coleman), Montreux is well worth a wander through, if only to get to the scenic Château de Chillon or to get to the hiker's paradise of Hauts de Montreux.
5. Aletsch Glacier
The Aletsch Glacier is the largest glacier in the Alps. It has a length of about 23 km and covers more than 120 square kilometres in the eastern Bernese Alps in the Swiss canton of Valais. The Aletsch Glacier is composed of three smaller glaciers converging at Concordia, where its thickness is estimated to be near 1 km.
4. Lake Geneva
Lake Geneva, known in French as Lac Léman, is one of the largest lakes in western Europe. It lies on the course of the Rhone river on the frontier between France and Switzerland. The main attractions of the region are the cities and towns surrounding the lake, the opportunities for skiing and hiking in both mountain ranges, and of course the lake itself.
3. Hiking in the Swiss National Park
No country in Europe is more synonymous with magnificent and mighty hiking than Switzerland, and its high-altitude national park with eagle-dotted skies is the place to do it. Follow trails through flower-strewn meadows to piercing blue lakes, knife-edge ravines, rocky outcrops and Alpine huts where shepherds make summertime cheese with cows' milk, fresh that morning from the bell-clad herd.
2. Matterhorn
The Matterhorn is one of the tallest mountains in the Alps. The Matterhorn has a pyramidal shape with four faces facing the four compass points: the north and east faces overlook the town of Zermatt; the south face overlooks the resort town of Breuil-Cervinia; and the west face looks towards the mountain of Dent d'Hérens, which straddles the border.
1. The Glacier Express
The Glacier Express is an express train connecting railway stations of the two major mountain resorts of St. Moritz and Zermatt in the Swiss Alps. The train is operated jointly by the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (MGB) and Rhaetian Railway (RhB). For much of its journey, it also passes along and through the World Heritage Site known as the Rhaetian Railway in the Albula/Bernina Landscapes.

We begin with the 1.7 mile long suspension bridge that links Marin County with the city of San Francisco in the United States - The Golden Gate Bridge. Serving the city since 1937, it is known for indulging its visitors with gorgeous horizons of the water, land, and glorious San Francisco skyline.
A cable stayed bridge in Malaysia; The Langkawi Sky Bridge is a superlative site of architectural ingenuity and coherence. Accessible to visitors by foot or the Langkawi Cable Car, this 125 meter long curved bridge is known to inspire an unmitigated affair with nature.
The connecting link between Sydney's central business district and the North Shore, the Sydney Harbor Bridge is the diligent hub of Sydney's fast-paced life. At 134 meters, this exalted bridge has not only earned its credibility among the world's widest long-span bridges but has also been covetously deemed as the tallest steel arch bridge.
Reputed to be the world's first tilting bridge, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge is stunning in every way. Linking Newcastle Quayside with Gateshead Quayside opposite, one side of the structure lies flat for pedestrians and cyclists and then tilts 40 degree to allow boats to pass underneath.
Spanning over the River Spree in Berlin, the Oberbaum Bridge is a stately bridge, basking in sheer magnificence. Throughout its history, this double-decker bridge has been tireless, timeless, grand, and has proven to be one of the city's most unfaltering features.
France 6 - Crowded Paris market
I can understand why Paris has the stereotype of being full of weirdos.
First, many French people have a fair, northern European complexion, but many others have a darker Mediterranean complexion and might even look strange. To Americans, many French people look strange.
Second, there are many more minorities in Paris than one would assume: There are tons of black, Arab and Asian people there.
Third, many Parisians are obsessed with fashion and dress in strange, stylish clothes.
Fourth, there are many street performers (mimes, dancers, etc.) and beggars in Paris.
When you combine all of these elements, the city indeed takes on a surprising and strange character that is shocking to many outsiders.

Hôtel Vernet
Le Vernet est un parfait représentant de la grande tradition française en matière d’hôtellerie de luxe. Pourtant, c’est un endroit moderne, au design contemporain. Le Vernet n’affiche définitivement pas son âge. Fringuant centenaire récemment rénové par le célèbre designer d’intérieur François Champsaur, il affiche désormais une parure chic, élégante et résolument d’aujourd’hui. Derrière sa façade haussmannienne classique, le Vernet c’est d’abord un lobby où l'on découvre l’esprit de ce lieu au luxe intemporel. Le sol en marbre restauré apporte classe et raffinement, tandis qu'un desk de réception déstructuré et entouré d’une paroi tissée de fil de cuivre créé une vision moderne de l’accueil. Le tout est lumineux, épuré. Le cuivre est un élément que l’on retrouve d’ailleurs dans le bar. Le paravent en cuivre plié offre une lumière douce, chatoyante, et on s’y sent immédiatement à l’aise. La fresque sur le plafond est signée par Jean-Michel Alberola qui a travaillé en collaboration avec François Champsaur. Les éléments de décoration répondent et dialoguent ainsi avec l’art exposé, et avec les dessins de l’artiste qui dynamisent l’espace. Les 50 chambres et suites proposent un luxe discret. Le bois domine, qu’il s’agisse du parquet en chêne ou des murs où un paravent agit en tant que tête de lit : une ambiance feutrée, intimiste, calme. Les tissus apportent une touche de couleur, comme les coussins qui ponctuent l’espace de leur présence insolente. Le restaurant de l’hôtel est de facture plus sobre dans la décoration mais pour une raison bien précise : situé sous une verrière signée Gustave Eiffel, il n’est pas question d’occulter cette magnifique réalisation. Le lieu s’harmonise donc avec la verrière, souligne son élégance ancestrale et propose un voyage gustatif de premier ordre.

The Vernet is the perfect example of the grand French tradition of hotel luxury, and yet we find ourselves in a modern, contemporary design venue. The Vernet neither hides nor reveals its age. This century old edifice was recently renovated by the famous designer, Francois Champsaur giving it a chic, elegant and totally modern aspect. Behind its classic Haussmann style façade, we discover the Vernet’s lobby and the true spirit of the hotel’s timeless luxury. The restored marble floor creates a sense of class and refinement, whereas the reception desk is unstructured and surrounded by a screen of woven copper, creating a modern space for welcoming guests. The area is very brightly lit and pure. Copper is an element which we find once again in the bar, demonstrating the coherence of the site. The folded copper screen emits a gentle and shimmering light making guests immediately feel at ease. The fresco on the ceiling is the work of Jean-Michel Alberola, who collaborated with designer Francois Champsaur. The decorative elements respond to and dialogue with the art on display and with the artist’s drawings which energize the space. The 50 rooms and suites offer guests discreet luxury. Wood is dominant with oak floors, and walls where a screen acts as a bed head. The atmosphere is filtered, intimate and calm. The fabrics add a touch of color, like the cushions which punctuate the space by their insolent presence. The hotel’s restaurant is the most sober element of the décor but for a very precise reason. When a room has a glass roof created by Gustave Eiffel, there is no question of upstaging it with anything else. The restaurant therefore is in harmony with the roof, underlining the historic elegance only matched by the excellence of the cuisine.
