Chikmagalur is a hill station in Karnataka, a state in southwest India. To the north is Baba Budangiri, a mountain range in the Western Ghats, with 3 large caves said to be holy. Trails through forests and grasslands lead up to Mullayanagiri Peak. The cascading Hebbe Falls lie in an area of coffee plantations. The forested Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, northwest of Chikmagalur, is home to elephants, tigers and leopards.

1.Mullayanagiri
Mullayanagiri is the highest peak in Karnataka, India. Mullayyanagiri is located at 13°23'26?N 75°43'18?E in the Chandra Dhrona Hill Ranges of the Western Ghats of Chikkamagaluru Taluk.
2.Baba Budangiri (Datta Peeta)
Baba Budangiri is a mountain in the Baba Budan range of the Western Ghats of India. Located in the Chikkamagaluru District of Karnataka, Baba Budangiri is known for its shrine to the Sufi saint Hazrat
3.Kudremukh National Park
Kuduremukha is a mountain range and name of a peak located in Chikkamagaluru district, in Karnataka, India.
4.Hebbe Falls
Hebbe Falls are situated at 13°32'29?N 75°43'30?E about 10 km away from the famous hill station Kemmangundi in Karnataka, India. This waterfalls are inside a coffee estate and can be reached either by walk or four-wheeler.

Kemmannugundi is a hill station in Tarikere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district in the state of Karnataka, India. It is 1434m above sea level.
6.Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary
Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area and a Project Tiger, tiger reserve located 38 km. Northwest of Chikkamagaluru town in Karnataka state, India. Bhadra sanctuary has a wide range of flora and fauna and is a popular place for day outings.
7.Sringeri Sharadamba Temple
Sri Sharadamba Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Saraswati in the holy town of Sringeri in Karnataka, India. The Sharadamba Temple at Sringeri is an 8th-century temple, founded by Sri Adi Shankaracharya.
8.Kalhatti Falls
Kalhatti Falls or Kalahasti Falls is located at Kallattipura in Chikmagalur district of Karnataka, India. The waterfall is 10 kilometers away from Kemmangundi hill station.
9.Coffee Museum
Coffee Museum is an interesting place and a must-visit for everyone who are traveling to Chikmagalur. The coffee quality evaluation and training center is also on the same premises as the coffee museum. The building itself is nestled in greenery and a short stairway leads you to the coffee encyclopedia.
10.Bhadra Dam
Bhadra dam is built on the river Bhadra, which is a tributary of the River Tungabhadra. It is situated in Chikmagalur town in Karnataka.

Chikmanglur under Rs : 2000/- | Part 1 | Budget Travel | Mullayanagiri | Jhari Falls | Hirekolale
On 2nd week of January 2019, I went for 3 days 2 night trip to the beautiful hill station called Chikmanglur in karnataka state of India.
With its favorable climate and coffee estates, it attracts tourists from around the country.
This Journey is a budget journey, we tried to make it as cheap as we can. We started the journey from Bangalore by bus. This part 1 of the travel series.
Places we covered in Day 1:
1. SEETHALAYANAGIRI
2. Mullayanagiri (The highest peak of karnataka)
3. Jhari falls/ Jerry Falls/ Buttermilk falls
4. An unknown View Point
5. Hirekolale lake

About Chikmagalur - Chikmagalur is a town located in the Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Located in the foothills of the Mullayanagiri range, the town with its favorable climate and coffee estates attracts tourists from around the state. Chikkamagaluru takes its name from the Kannada Cikkamagala uru that translates to younger daughter's town. It is said to have been given as a dowry to the youngest daughter of Rukmangada, the legendary chief of Sakharayapattana.

Kodagu is an administrative district in Karnataka, India. Before 1956 it was an administratively separate Coorg State,[3] at which point it was merged into an enlarged Mysore State. It occupies an area of 4,102 square kilometres (1,584 sq mi) in the Western Ghats of southwestern Karnataka. In 2001 its population was 548,561, 13.74% of which resided in the district's urban centres, making it the least populous of the 30 districts in Karnataka.
The district is bordered by Dakshina Kannada district to the northwest, Kasargod district of Kerala to the west, Hassan district to the north, Mysore district to the east, Kannur district of Kerala to the southwest, and the Wayanad district of Kerala to the south. Agriculture is the most important factor that upholds the economy of Kodagu and the main crops cultivated in this region are rice and coffee. Coorg is rich in natural resources which included timber and spices. Madikeri (English: Mercara) is the headquarters of Kodagu.
Kodagu is known for its coffee and its people. The dominant group are the indigenous (Kodavas) and other ethnic groups (Arabashe Gowdas and Kodava subgroups). The chief languages presently spoken in Kodagu are Kodava, Are Bhashe, Kannada, Tulu, Konkani and Urdu. Kodagu is home to the native speakers of the Kodava language.

Sringeri, one of the most revered holy towns in South India, is located on the banks of Tunga River. The town is in Chikmagalur village in Karnataka. Sringeri has got its name from the epic character Rishyasringa, a famous personality in Ramayana.
It is a bustling city with the presence of world renowned Sri Sarada Samsthanam (Sri Sringeri Sharada Peetham) established in 7th century by Saint Adi Sankaracharya. Adi Sankaracharya, the great exponent of Advaita Vedanta philosophy, had established his first monastery in Sringeri. This is regarded one of the Shakthi Sthalas in India. It is first Mutt out of the original four Sankara Ashrams in India.
Sringeri as a pilgrim town houses many other temples including 14th century Vidyashankara temple. This temple is located at a picturesque location along the banks of the river in a pleasant ambiance. The temple architectural style is a specimen of the Vijayanagar style of architectural brilliance. Chenna Keshab temple and Sharadamba Temple are other two important shrines in Sringeri.
As a part of the western Ghats, Sringeri offers immaculate views of nature. The region surrounding is rich with beautiful scenery and amazing waterfalls. There are many known attractions in and around Sringeri. Agumbe (a spectacular sunset point), Jog Falls (one of the highest waterfalls in India), Kudremukh (an entertaining hill-station) and Sringagiri hills (the birth place of Sage Rishyasringa) are all at driving distances away from Sringeri.
Sarada Navrathri festival is an important festival attracting thousands of devotees to thus temple town.
