Chorzów [ˈxɔʐuf] is a city in Silesia in southern Poland, near Katowice. Chorzów is one of the central districts of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union - a metropolis with a population of 2 million. It is located in the Silesian Highlands, on the Rawa River . Administratively, Chorzów is in the Silesian Voivodeship since 1999, previously Katowice Voivodeship, and before then, the Silesian Voivodeship. Chorzów is one of the cities of the 2.7 million conurbation - the Katowice urban area and within a greater Silesian metropolitan area with the population of about 5,294,000 people. The population within the city limits is 113,162 .

  • 4. Silesian Amusement Park Chorzow
    Legendia is a permanent amusement park located within the Silesian Central Park in the center of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union, Silesia, Poland. It has an area of 26 ha. In 2008, it has been visited by 253 000 patrons. It is the largest permanent amusement park in Poland. In 2015 a Slovakian company Tatra Mountain Resort became investor of Silesian Amusement Park and started to change it. Main changes were change of name to Legendia and modification of existing attractions. Park is now in theme of Legends. On 1st July 2017 a new rollercoaster called Lech Coaster was opened. Its the biggest rollercoaster in Central-Eastern Europe.

    Silesian Stadium is a sport stadium located on the premises of Silesian Park in Chorzów, Poland. The stadium has a fully covered capacity of 55,211, after a recent refurbishment completed in October 2017. The stadium hosted many Polish national football team matches and for many decades was Poland's national stadium. After the National Stadium in Warsaw had been completed, the Silesian Stadium lost that role. The stadium was not in operation between 2009 and 2017 due to its ongoing reconstruction. Silesian Stadium is a UEFA Category 4 stadium.

    The Wieliczka Salt Mine , located in the town of Wieliczka in southern Poland, lies within the Kraków metropolitan area. Opened in the 13th century, the mine produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world's oldest salt mines in operation. Throughout, the royal mine was run by the Żupy krakowskie Salt Mines company.Commercial mining was discontinued in 1996, because of salt prices going down and also mine flooding. The mine is currently one of Poland's official national Historic Monuments , whose attractions include dozens of statues and four chapels carved out of the rock salt by the miners, as well as supplemental carvings made by contemporary artists.
