Carúpano is a beautiful city in the eastern Venezuelan state of Sucre
Carúpano is a city in the eastern Venezuelan state of Sucre. It is located on the Venezuelan Caribbean coast at the opening of two valleys, some 120 km east of the capital of Sucre, Cumaná.[1] This city is the shire town of the Bermúdez Municipality and, according to the 2001 Venezuelan census, the municipality has a population of 122,195.travel,Cacao, coffee, sugar, cotton, timber and rum[6] have been important exports of Carúpano since colonial times. Carupanese rums are highly appreciated nationwide, so the internal consumption usually leaves little surplus rum for export.
As of November 2006, Carúpano is a domestic scheduled destination of Avior Airlines, flying from the local General José Francisco Bermúdez Airport.[7]

Bermúdez Municipality in Sucre State
The Bermúdez Municipality, according to the 2001 Venezuelan census, has a population of 175,877 (up from 100,794 in 1990). This amounts to 15.5% of Sucre's population.[2] The municipality's population density is 1,559 people per square mile (601.95/km²).[1][2]

Carúpano is the administrative centre of Bermúdez Municipality. The mayor of the Bermúdez Municipality is Julio César Rodríguez, elected in 2008.[8]

House of Cable
The House of Cable was where the first submarine cable between Europe and America arrived, joining the French city of Marseille with Carúpano, back in the late 19th century. This house is today the headquarters of the Tomas Merle foundation and the Paria Project, two organizations that promote tourism and industry.

In Brasilien haben wir schließlich Darwin getroffen, welcher mit seinem Bruder von Venezuela nach Argentinien flieht und uns sehr viel über Venezuela und seine Reise erzählt hat.

Danach geht es in die traumhafte Welt der Tafelberge und zum höchsten Wasserfall der Erde, dem Salto Ángel bzw. Kerepacupay Vená. Von hier aus geht es über Puerto Ordaz ins Orinoco Delta und danach zu den karibischen Traumstränden Playa de Uva und Playa Medina auf der Halbinsel Paria. Wer möchte, kann die Venezuela Reise noch mit ein paar Tagen auf dem Archipel Los Roques verlängern.

Mochima como para promocionarlo como destino de nuestras rutas turísticas. Debemos ser sinceros: El turismo desbordado y sin restricciones han colocado a nuestro Parque Nacional Mochima convertido una cloaca. Las aguas negras que salen de la inmensidad numérica de casas y edificios a orillas del mar lo han hecho posible en complicidad o la actitud pusilánime de I.N.PARQUES, incluyendo las payas de las islas comprendidas en su jurisdicción. La fauna marina es escasa y el coral corre serio riesgo de ser muerto. La inseguridad impera debido a la inoperancia policial. No obstante, aún puede contarse con rincones y personas con quienes se puede confiar para pasar unos dias de total relax, por ejemplo: El mercado municipal cuenta con venta de empanadas con diversos rellenos, jugos de frutas y café para desayunar, con precios bajos y muy competitivos. Igualmente hay posadas que se atreven a defender a sus hospedados contra hampones y antisociales. Algunas de dichas posadas cuentan con cocinas, neveras y lavaderos o fregaderos externos para el uso exclusivo de sus clientes y comedores elevados para apreciar el horizonte marino mientras se degusta de un plato típico del oriente de nuestro país. Tuvimos el gusto de conocer a un lanchero que nos ofreció, por un módico precio lo siguiente: Paseos en lancha a las más hermosas playas de las islas, buceo con snorkles y chapaletas y pesca con anzuelo para nuestra cena. Debo incluir que el lancherosiempre fué puntual, no llevaba la tan molesta música de los otros lancheros, no andaba beodo ni fumaba y llevaba su comida consigo; además de comportarse muy respetuosamente.
