Flight Verona - Copenhagen
We took an afternoon flight from Verona (Valerio Catullo) in northern Italy to Copenhagen (Kastrup Airport) with a Boeing 737
While the plane turns north over the Po plain, we view both the Ossuary of Custoza (In memory of the war between the Kingdom of Italy and the Austrian empire in 1866 as part of the Italian unification process) and Lake Garda.
The journey continues along the border between the regions of Veneto and Lombardy onward the river Mincio to the province of Trento with an outlook on the Dolomites. The voyage then proceeds along the river Adige over Tyrol and the Lower Inn valley through Austria towards Germany and the federal state of Bavaria.
With the Alps behind us we soon reach Munich, where among other things, the river Isar and the Allianz Arena can be distinguished. Next to the town of Freising the Munich Airport (Franz Josef Strauss) is also in sight, and the journey goes on above the Danube and Altmühl rivers to Amberg with glimpses of its town wall.
We eventually reach the Fichtel Mountains travelling past the town of Hof with an easterly outlook of Czech Bohemia and the Saxon town of Plauen. After passing Gera we overlook the city of Leipzig and its airport (Leipzig/Halle). The visibility over northern Germany and southern Scandinavia is unfortunately obscured by clouds.
At 16.05 we finally reach a humid and hazy Copenhagen.
