10 things you need to see when driving Florida's A1A
Florida's State Road A1A is one of the most scenic road trip routes in the nation. It runs along the most eastern border of the state, about as close to the water as you can get. In fact, pay attention to the weather when planning your vacation, because stretches of this route are known to close down due to tropical storms.
But when the weather is grand, the views couldn't be better. A1A is a beach-lover's paradise, because it hops from beach to beach. As a bonus, Florida tends to be less expensive than California (except for a few regions near Jupiter Beach), making this beach-hopping car tour both budget-friendly and super laid-back.
Catch a flight into Miami and head north, where you can hug the edge of Florida for long stretches, nearly all the way to the Georgia-Florida state line. A1A is by far the slower route than other north-south options, but making good time is rarely the point of a road trip, right?
Although we could make a top-100 list of our favorite places to stop on A1A, here are 10 must-dos, starting in Miami Beach and heading north to Amelia Island.

♥ How to celebrate Fall in California ♥
When you think about Fall you usually think of cozy chunky sweaters, boots, hot beverages and cold weather, but in California it’s still hot and sunny. Here are three ways to celebrate Fall in California!
We had a Fall themed day with our nephew Rohan and cousin Holly!
1. Visit the Monarch Butterflies
Our first stop was the Monarch Festival at Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz, California. They had homemade pumpkin ice cream (that was only $1, what a deal!), face painting, music and of course thousands of bright orange butterflies in the eucalyptus grove. In the Fall, monarchs migrate to California to escape the cold weather and roost.
2. Go to a Pumpkin Patch
After the Monarch Festival, we adventured down the Pacific Coast Highway to Davenport where we made a stop at Rodoni Farms Pumpkin Patch. With our wheelbarrow in tow, we found our winning pumpkins and got lost in the corn maze overlooking the ocean.
3. Eat Pumpkin Everything!
We built up our appetite in the corn maze and made a pit stop at Trader Joe’s grocery store. It was filled with pumpkin flavored everything! We tried pumpkin tortilla chips, pumpkin mochi ice cream, pumpkin salsa, pumpkin cookie butter, and more!
Fall is a great season! How do you celebrate Fall? What is your favorite part of Fall? Let us know in the comments below!
