PONT NATUREL D'IMI-N-IFRI - DEMNATE - MAROC

Le pont naturel d'Imi-n-Ifri est en fait une immense arche naturelle creusée dans le calcaire par l'oued Tisslit. C'est un lieu naturel d'une extrême beauté.

Un sentier en boucle a été érigé pour accéder à ce site. En ce qui nous concerne, nous avons débuté notre randonnée par l'entrée située en amont du pont naturel.

Du haut de l'escalier, nous pouvons d'ores et déjà apercevoir les profondes gorges dans lesquelles s'écoule l'oued Tisslit. Nous observons plusieurs bassins desquels s'écoulent de petites cascades d'eau.

Nous descendons le long escalier nous mène jusqu'aux rives de l'oued.

L'érosion a façonné un paysage tout à fait spectaculaire. Les falaises se sont affaissées, projetant ainsi d'immenses rochers dans le cours d'eau.

J'oserais comparer la surface de ces falaises à un bout de chandelle. La cire fond et laisse un dépôt qui dégouline après s'est refroidie. On dirait que la surface de ces falaises a passé par ce même processus.

Nous passons de l'autre côté de l'oued et suivons un sentier étroit qui surplombe le cours d'eau. La prudence est de mise car un faux-pas peut être fatal.

Nous arrivons enfin sous l'arche qui présente une multitude de stalactites. Les oiseaux virevoltent au-dessus de nos têtes.

Nous descendons ensuite un escalier taillé dans la pierre qui nous ramène en bordure de l'oued.

Le sentier continue ensuite sur la rive droite de l'oued. Nous devons parfois escalader quelques gros rochers pour poursuivre notre chemin.

Le panorama est vraiment sensationnel de ce côté-ci de la falaise. On entrevoit très bien l'arche au pied de laquelle s'écoule de petites cascades dans un des bassins de la rivière.

C'est en observant les personnes qui se trouvent à proximité de l''entrée de l'arche que l'on constate son immensité.

Pour retourner à notre point de départ, il faut remonter une longue série de marches. Cependant, nous avons l'opportunité d'avoir d'excellents points de vue de toute la région.

Morocco Adventure Riding Camels and Camping in the Sahara

We made it! After a friend suggested we just HAD TO go for a camel ride and camping in the Sahara desert, we made it our mission to get there and do it. Wow. No regrets at all. What an amazing experience to share with my son.
