British Rail Purfleet March 1986

Another vid from my early filming days now, Purfleet Station filmed on 19 march 1986. Here we see a mix of passenger & freight traffic with classes 08, 47, 56, 59 & 302s. The class 59's hadn't long been introduced (reason for my trip out) and you can see the GM techie guys in the rear cab of the loco. Note that when delivered the original four were all un-named. There was still a lot of oil traffic around then and Purfleet even had a Gronk out-stationed from Stratford to shunt rakes of wagons as seen here. Hiking England: Pennine Way - Part 2, Snake Pass to Standedge

Continuing section hiking the Pennine Way, I do a 18 mile stretch from Snake Pass to Standedge, finishing off the Peak District section.
I follow the Way over Bleaklow, Torside Reservoir, Black Hill, crossing the Derbyshire/Yorkshire border, and Wesenden Reservoirs.

Bulleid Pacific 34067 hauls the Scarborough Flyer Crewe to Scarborough and return on 22/07/2011. Tangmere was a last minute replacement on this tour. The train is seen here on the climb to Standedge tunnel at Diggle on the outward run.
