A Visit to Dyers Creek - Dover, TN

This all-new production features recent digital video shot entirely with a Traveler HD 10X Digital Video Camera.

This was recorded on Sunday, February 13, 2011 while visiting family and friends in Tennessee:

Welcome to Dyers Creek Recreation Area on scenic Lake Barkley 1 mile from Dover, TN. This public area was created after the Barkely Dam was built on the Cumberland River which created Lake Barkely. Several tributary creeks whch emptied into the Cumberland River also became flooded. Many of these areas were converted into public recreation areas by the US Army Corps of Engineers, with boat launches and other facilities.

Visitors at Dyers Creek enjoy boating, fishing, swimming and many other outdoor activities. The Day Use area is open on a seasonal basis but features a shelter pavilion and picnic tables. Public restrooms are also located in this area.

In this video, I capture a few scenes at the boat ramp and parking area at Dyers Creek located in Stewart County just east of Dover city limits. You'll see some views of the boat ramp area and the floating dock and surrounding area. Even though it's a sunny day, breezy and warmer than freezing, you can still see some snow laying around in shady areas. Also, in sheltered areas of the creek you can see ice still on the water.
