Drama is a city and municipality in northeastern Greece in Macedonia. Drama is the capital of the regional unit of Drama which is part of the East Macedonia and Thrace region. The town is the economic center of the municipality , which in turn comprises 60 percent of the regional unit's population.   • 2. Aggitis Cave Aggitis
    The Angitis , also known as Angista and Dramatitsa, is a tributary of the Strymonas in Northern Greece. The river is 75 km long and an important tributary of the Strymonas. Its source is in the Falakro mountains, in the regional unit of Drama, near the town of Prosotsani. It flows south until Fotolivos, where it turns west and enters the Serres regional unit. It flows into the Strymonas near Tragilos. The river is the setting for a number of extreme sports, including rafting. The Angitis cave is 21 km long. A short distance from the cave is the gorge of the Angitis, 15 km in length with a depth that reaches 100 m down to the river bed.

    The Archaeological Museum of Drama is located in the city of Drama in East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. It was built by the Municipality of Drama and inaugurated on 12 December 1999. The exhibits record the cultural history of Drama prefecture from the Middle Palaeolithic to 1914. The oldest finds come from excavations in the cave at the source of the River Angitis , and the museum also displays tools, jewellery, and pots from the prehistoric settlements of Sitagra and Arkadikos from the Early Bronze Age , the Late Bronze Age , and from the Early Iron Age . The museum also has examples of Attic pottery , a marble bust of Dionysos, which constitutes the earliest evidence of his cult in the wider area, a hoard of coins of Philip II from an excavation at Potami, and other finds from the anci...
