Roadtrip Highlights of Georgia, Tennessee, & North Carolina: Including Nashville & Gatlinburg
We spent two weeks road tripping the South of USA with Charlie's parents focusing on Georgia, Tennessee, & North Carolina. We stayed in Blairsville, GA for 3 nights and explored the mountain towns of Helen, Blue Ridge, Dahlonega& Ellijay.
Next we moved on to Nashville, TN the home of country music. We met up with Brittany's parents and explored the Grand Ole Opry, The Honky Tonks of Nashville (our favorite being the Swingin Doors Saloon) and the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Our next stop was Gatlinburg, TN. This is the home of the Great Smoky Mountains. We explored Cades Cove (a driving pass through the mountains) and hiked several trails and viewed countless beautiful waterfalls. Although Gatlinburg is becoming touristy, the likes of the Eight Gables Inn (where we stayed) and the Smoky Mountains bring back that mountain feel that everyone goes for.
After three nights in Gatlinburg., we moved on to Maggie Valley, NC. This is where we explored the Wheels Through Time Museum. Anyone in the surrounding areas MUST stop in this living museum. Charlie's dad spent 3 1/2 hours in the Wheels Through Time checking out the fascinating collection (all of which runs!)

Yoly and I head up to Hiawassee, Georgia to spend a night nestled high in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We stay at one of the best Passport America parks we've ever run across. Full hook-ups, cable TV and the fastest internet (by far) than we've ever seen in traveling 48 states. The owners Mike & Damien were super cool and Damien brought out his Yuneec Typhoon H to fly alongside my Phantom 3 Advanced. I got some awesome shots of the foliage from ground level and from the sky. Ended up being the longest video I've ever produced for YouTube but when the footage is that good you have to use it all :-) Mountain View Campground is about 4 or 5 miles east of the town of Hiawassee and Lake Chatuge. It is close to all kinds of natural wonders .... waterfalls, hiking trails, scenic lookouts, zipline and kayaking adventures as well as close proximity to good restaurants. We can't wait to go back -)

This incredible mountain home truly is a piece of heaven for anyone desiring luxury, relaxation and fun all rolled into one great place. From the large covered porches and outdoor wood burning fireplace (guest provides their own firewood) to the beautiful and cozy interior, this home is sure to become a vacation getaway favorite! The open floor plan provides a great place for entertaining and the Great Room with stacked rock gas log fireplace provides a beautiful and warm atmosphere at the click of a switch and a 46 Flat Screen TV. The well equipped kitchen has an electric stove and stainless steel appliances and also offers a large dining area for those formal or not so formal meals that just taste better when you`re in the mountains! This home has three king masters, one on each floor. The king on the main has doors that lead to the spacious covered porch where the stunning stacked rock wood burning fireplace awaits you. One seasonal supply of firewood is supplied by the homeowner....as outdoor fireplaces and fire pits are not typically supplied with firewood. The firewood for the outside fireplace is for guests use, we just ask that you be courteous and use only what is needed so that future guests have some as well. There is also a large bath with a walk-in shower on this floor. Upstairs there is another king bedroom with a 40 Flat Screen TV, a private bath with double vanities and a walk-in shower. Downstairs, you will find the 3rd king bedroom with a door leading to the covered porch and the Hot Tub. There is also another bathroom with a tub/shower combo. Here is also where the game room with pool table, air hockey table, 46 Flat Screen TV, Stacked Rock Gas Fireplace and custom bar is located. There is also a microwave, mini fridge and popcorn maker to enhance your mountain getaway experience. After a great day of just doing what ever pleases you, relax in the large luxury hot tub and watch for one of those famous North Georgia shooting stars that so many enjoy while they are here. This home is conveniently located in Blue Ridge, and only 10 minutes from historic downtown where fabulous dining and unique dining await you! You are about 20 minutes from Ellijay, home of the famous Georgia Apple Festival.
