Elbow Cay Surf Trip 2017
For this Thanksgiving, I took my favorite surfboards out to explore the reefs at Elbow Cay, Bahamas. If left unchecked, life can quickly become a vicious routine riddle with stress and anxiety. The years go by and you forget to live. Though I stepped on a sea urchin, got myself scraped with sharp coral, and brought home a brutal rash on my chest from my surfboards, I'd go at it again in no time! This was a much needed break; I call it a sea-bbatical, and hope it inspires you to take one as well! To God be all the glory.

There are many reasons why I miss Elbow Cay, one of them is the stunning Tahiti Beach. This episode of Island Lime Videos features Tahiti Beach. Tahiti Beach is located on the southern tip of Elbow Cay in the Abaco Islands of the Bahamas. It's a place where the current rushes in from the pass and carries with is tons of sand that over time has built up into a shallow beach paradise that stretches nearly as far as you can see. During low tide you can almost walk to the next closest island, toes sinking into the tropical sand the entire way. Heaven.

Who Is RumShopRyan:
Howdy! I’m Ryan and I hail from the land-locked, can’t get any further from the ocean, state of Kansas. I moved to laid back southwest Florida in 2001. I didn’t know a single person and didn’t have a job. Risky I know, but the ocean was calling and I had to answer.
I’m a huge fan of Kansas City sports, so you’ll probably see a lot of Jayhawks, Chiefs and Royals attire in my photos. Kansas City is a great town and I’m glad I’m from there, but the coastal life was calling. It’s kind of like Kenny Chesney’s “island boy” song. Check out the lyrics and you’ll see what I mean.
I write because I’m passionate about the Caribbean and the island lifestyle, and it’s my way to share it with you. If it has anything to do with the Caribbean, rum drinks, beach style music, or Caribbean culture, you’ll be able to find it on this site.
When in the Caribbean you’ll find a camera around my neck and note pad in my pocket. This is how I document the experiences in unique and interesting ways and bring it back to you, the Castaways.
Who is Castaway Crystal:
I was raised in Southwest Florida so it’s no surprise that I have a love for beaches, water and nature. As a child, most weekends were spent fishing in the warm gulf waters on the family boat. As an adult, most weekends are spent soaking up the sun on Ft. Myers Beach. Even though I have always loved the coastal life, I don’t think I fully appreciated it until I moved to Nashville, TN. I’m all about experiencing new things, and as a Licensed Massage Therapist I thought it would be amazing to massage some of Nashville’s biggest stars (a girl can dream right?). But I missed the sun and sand too much—and let’s not forget the rum runners! After a year I couldn’t take it anymore, this sun bunny moved back to her coast of somewhere beautiful.
I’ve always been passionate about photography and writing but my passions never really had a purpose until I met Ryan. I couldn’t be happier being Ryan’s first mate and sharing my photos and stories with you. May they inspire you to go after your tropical dreams and wishes. Make a plan…Set a date…Just go!
On Top of the World and an Approaching Storm - Exploring Hope Town - Abaco Bahamas
We explore The lovely Hope Town in the Abacos, Bahamas. Hope Town is a small touristy resort village on the north end of Elbow Cay in the Abacos. You can spot it by the famous candy striped Elbow Reef lighthouse, probably the most recognizable landmark in the Abacos. Hope Town is not a tourist trap type of destination. The resorts are small, the town is kept clean, the houses are colourful, the shops quaint and the eateries decent. There are very little cars on the island, and you are not allowed in town with the golf carts, only bikes allowed. It makes for a beautiful relaxed walk as you visit the stores and just take in the sights. It is a very popular spot with the cruisers and when we first arrived the mooring field was completely full. We managed to get one the next day, but as you will see in the next episode, we wish we didn't take that mooring.

Bermuda Tourist Things To Do in 1080P HD

Bermuda is an excellent group of small islands to visit! To many people's surprise, it's located off of the east coast of the United States and is not south of Florida in the Caribbean. The preferred method for transportation in Bermuda is motorcycle or scooter. Locals are only allowed to have one car per household and all cars on the islands are very compact in size. The food is excellent and the weather is incredible. The water is so clear and colorful that it looks fake. Definitely eat Bermudian Fish Chowder while in Bermuda and drink a rum swizzle! Confidence in riding a motorcycle or scooter is not a must (there are plenty of taxis) but it's definitely the most exciting and inexpensive way to explore the islands. For about $7 US worth of gas, one should be able to ride from one tip of the island to the other at least once without having to gas up. I strongly suggest renting a scooter from Oleander cycles and stopping everywhere that looks interesting. The locals are friendly and it's a safe place to explore. Some of the most popular spots are Horseshoe Bay, Elbow Beach, Hamilton, St. George's and the Royal Naval Dockyards. I recommend visiting all of these places but some of the less heard of places like Shelly Bay are some of the best spots! Also, be sure to tour the Crystal Caves. Oh and don't forget to wear a shirt while riding a scooter. I wanted to get a little extra tan while riding but was told that it's illegal to ride a motorcycle or scooter in Bermuda with no shirt! Also, for snorkeling or diving, the Constellation & Montana shipwrecks are spectacular! We're not divers but snorkeled over the shipwrecks and could see everything. The Bermudian fried onion rings are excellent too! This video was filmed in 1080P HD with a Panasonic Lumix TS3 camera.
