Failsworth is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England, 3.7 miles northeast of Manchester and 2.9 miles southwest of Oldham. The orbital M60 motorway skirts Failsworth's eastern boundary. The population at the 2011 census was 20,680.Historically part of Lancashire, until the 19th century Failsworth was a small agricultural township linked ecclesiastically with the parish of Manchester. Farming was the main industry of this rural area, with locals supplementing their incomes by hand-loom weaving in the domestic system.
