Rimini is a city of 146,606 inhabitants in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy and capital city of the Province of Rimini. It is located on the Adriatic Sea, on the coast between the rivers Marecchia (the ancient Ariminus) and Ausa (ancient Aprusa). It is one of the most famous seaside resorts in Europe, thanks to its 15-kilometre-long (9 mi) sandy beach, over 1,000 hotels, and thousands of bars, restaurants and discos. The first bathing establishment opened in 1843. An art city with ancient Roman and Renaissance monuments, Rimini is the hometown of the famous film director Federico Fellini as well.
Founded by the Romans in 268 BC, throughout their period of rule Rimini was a key communications link between the north and south of the peninsula, and on its soil Roman emperors erected monuments like the Arch of Augustus and the Tiberius Bridge, while during the Renaissance, the city benefited from the court of the House of Malatesta, which hosted artists like Leonardo da Vinci and produced works such as the Tempio Malatestiano.
In the 19th century, Rimini was one of the most active cities in the revolutionary front, hosting many of the movements aimed at Italian unification. In the course of World War II, the city was the scene of clashes and bombings, but also of a fierce partisan resistance that earned it the honor of a gold medal for civic valor. Finally, in recent years it has become one of the most important sites for trade fairs and conferences in Italy.
The total approximate population of the Rimini urban area is 225,000 and the provincial population is 330,000.

10 Mayan Secret Places That Were Hidden for Centuries
The Mayan civilization is full of secrets. Even experts have been baffled by their highly sophisticated writing system, their knowledge of mathematics and astronomy, and the amazing architectural marvels they managed to create without any modern equipment. Every year, archeologists and researchers use the most advanced technologies to uncover the mysteries hidden behind the walls of temple complexes, buried in the depth of sacred cenotes and caves.
Well, how they managed to create them is a matter of discussion, but let’s not get into that. Instead, let's see at some of these marvelous architectural accomplishments. Tour guides never reveal these secrets of centuries-old ruins to ordinary tourists.

SUMMARY:
- Temple of KuKULkan, was built sometime between the 9th and 12th centuries CE. During the autumn equinox and the vernal equinox, one can see a snake-like shadow crawling on the pyramid's balustrade. It moves upwards in March and downwards in September.
- The Balancanché caves aren't included on the classic tourist route. The name translates to the cave of the sacred jaguar throne. These mesmerizing caves were first discovered by two American archaeologists in 1905 and have since then stirred curiosity.
- Cenote Ik Kil is located in the Yucatán State of Mexico. This place is otherworldly. While the Mayans used this site as a place for performing rituals, today tourists can be seen swimming.
- Nohoch Mul Pyramid is the place you should visit. If you aren’t afraid of heights and can muster the energy to climb its 130 steep steps to the top, you’ll be able to get a remarkable view of the Yucatán.
- Ancient city Tulum is the only Mayan city on the shore of the Caribbean Sea, located 39 feet (12 m) up on the cliffs of the Yucatan peninsula.
- The tallest and the most recognizable structure in Uxmal is also known by other names, like the Pyramid of the Dwarf, Casa el Adivino, and the Pyramid of the Soothsayer.
- Temple of the Inscriptions was built as a tomb for King Pakal, the ruler of Palenque in the 7th century. The inner walls of the temple are inscribed with about 600 hieroglyphs, some of which are yet to be deciphered.
- Located not far from Palenque, the ancient city, Yaxchilan, was one of the most powerful states in the Mayan empire. The city is known for its well-preserved stone ornamentation above the doorways of the main structures known as lintels.
- According to Professor Mary Miller, who specializes in Mayan art, no other artifacts from the Mayan times offer a better glimpse of the society than the Bonampak paintings.
- The Temple of the Great Jaguar was built as a funerary temple, and in the year 1962, archaeologists were finally able to locate the tomb of the ruler who built it. The body of the king was covered with large quantities of jade ornaments.

Rome Travel Guide - A glimpse of Italy historical & magical city of Rome
Rome Travel Guide - A glimpse of Italy historical & magical city of Rome
Rome is the capital and largest city of Italy and of the Lazio region. It is famous for being the home of the ancient Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita (the sweet life), the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain. Ancient ruins such as the Forum and the Colosseum evoke the power of the former Roman Empire. Vatican City, headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, has St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, which house masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel frescoes.
The historic centre of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With wonderful palaces, thousand-year-old churches, grand Romantic ruins, opulent monuments, ornate statues and graceful fountains, Rome has an immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of Europe's and the world's most visited, famous, influential and beautiful capitals. Today, Rome has a growing nightlife scene and is also seen as a shopping heaven, being regarded as one of the fashion capitals of the world
Much of the attraction of Rome is in just wandering around the old city. You can quickly escape from the major tourist routes and feel as if you are in a small medieval village, not a capital city. Take a stroll in the area between piazza Navona and the Tiber river in Old Rome where artisans continue to ply their trade from small shops. Also in Old Rome, take a 1km stroll down via Giulia, which is lined with many old palaces. Film enthusiasts will want to visit via Veneto (via Vittorio Veneto) in the Modern Center, scene for much of Fellini's La Dolce Vita. The best way to see the heart of what was ancient Rome's entertainment center, namely the Campus Martius, with its theaters, stadiums, baths, temples and porticos is on foot. This is the area that runs south from the Capitoline Hill to the Piazza del Popolo on the north and the Corso on the east to the Tiber and is what generally encloses the centro storico or historic center.
Rome Districts:
Modern Centre: home to the areas around the Quirinal, Trevi fountain, piazza Barberini, Castro Pretorio and piazza della Repubblica.
Old Rome: With beautiful squares, cathedrals, the Pantheon, and plenty of laid-back dining; includes piazza Navona, piazza Campo de' Fiori, and the (former) Jewish Ghetto
Vatican: Vatican Museums - as well as the surrounding Italian districts of Borgo, Prati and Monte Mario.
Colosseo: The heart of ancient Rome, the Colosseum, the Imperial Fora and the Markets of Trajan, the Capitoline hill and its museums.
North Centre: It is home to the Villa Borghese, the Spanish Steps, and the elegant districts of Parioli and Salario.
Trastevere: The charming district south of the Vatican, on the west bank of the Tiber, full of narrow cobbled streets and lonely squares.
Aventino-Testaccio.
Esquilino-San Giovanni: South of Termini, with an indoor market, piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and the Cathedral of Rome - Saint John in Lateran.
Nomentano.

Places to see in ( Rimini - Italy )
Places to see in ( Rimini - Italy )
Rimini is a city on the Adriatic coast, in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. It's known for its beachside nightclubs and shallow waters. South of the center, the Malatestiano Temple is a 15th-century reconstruction of an old Franciscan church, now a mausoleum for Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, a local nobleman. Nearby, the Malatesta-built Castel Sismondo is a medieval fortress now used for cultural events.
Roman relics, jam-packed beaches, hedonistic nightclubs and the memory of film director and native son Federico Fellini make sometimes awkward bedfellows in seaside Rimini. Although there's been a settlement here for over 2000 years, Rimini's coast was just sand dunes until 1843, when the first bathing establishments took root next to the ebbing Adriatic. The beach huts gradually morphed into a megaresort that was sequestered by a huge nightclub scene in the 1990s. Despite some interesting history, Fellini-esque movie memorabilia and a decent food culture, 95% of Rimini's visitors come for its long, boisterous, sometimes tacky beachfront.

Finally, in recent years it has become one of the most important sites for trade fairs and conferences in Italy.
There has been a settlement at Rimini since prehistoric times. Founded by the Romans in 268 BC, Rimini boasts a 2,000-year history that has left important marks testifying to its grandeur. To the Romans, Ariminum was a link between the Italic and the Gallic lands, a stronghold on the Adriatic and a gateway to the Po valley. Three major roads converged here - the Flaminian Way, the Aemilian Way and the Popilian Way.
Rimini today is a thriving, bustling resort on the Italian Riviera that boasts over a thousand hotels. It is Italy's biggest beach resort and it is very famous all over Europe, with 15 km of sandy beach plus thousands of bars, restaurants and discos.
This is a place where the Italians go for their sea and sun, and therefore the food is excellent as well as the people being friendly and helpful. You won't find many tour buses filled with Americans or English here! This also means, however, that few speak anything but Italian, so be sure to take your phrase book with you. The locals will work with you and are always happy to see a foreigner at least trying to communicate in their language.
Lounge on the 15km of beaches. Known as La Marina, the beachfront is by far the number one reason anybody comes to Rimini. Yes, there is an old town, but this is generally ignored by most tourists although its major historical and cultural value with valuable monuments dating back to Roman and medieval era.
