Fouday is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. At the start of 1975 Fouday was merged with the neighboring settlements of Waldersbach, Belmont and Bellefosse: the resulting aggregation was called Ban de la Roche, recalling a historical name for the territory. The Vosgean mountain village recovered its independence at the start of 1992: it has been incorporated into various administrative structures in recent decades and is currently one of 25 small settlements included in the Community of Haute-Bruche communes.
