Saint Kitts and Nevis Drone Flight: Saint Kitts and Nevis is a dual-island nation situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Its known for cloud-shrouded mountains and beaches. Many of its former sugar plantations are now inns or atmospheric ruins. The larger of the 2 islands, Saint Kitts, is dominated by the dormant Mount Liamuiga volcano, home to a crater lake, green vervet monkeys and rainforest crisscrossed with hiking trails. Saint Kittss Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park is a well-preserved colonial-era military fortress, with cannons pointed toward the Caribbean Sea. At Frigate Bay, on the islands Atlantic coast, lies a crescent beach thats a popular swimming spot. In the channel between Saint Kitts and Nevis, scuba divers explore Booby Island, with its numerous jackfish and snapper. Frigate Bay Beach - Beaches of St. Kitts
South Frigate Bay, or locally known as The Strip, is the main entertainment area on the island. It is also a beach bar heaven. Over a dozen beach bars line this strip of sand, many with live music, beach bonfires, delicious feed and strong drinks...all just steps away from the calm waters of the Caribbean.
I arrived aboard the Sagitta, a 120ft. tall ship from Island Windjammers ( ). We spend the day relax on the sand and later that night enjoyed a beach BBQ at the Shiggidy Shack.

Howdy! I’m Ryan and I hail from the land-locked, can’t get any further from the ocean, state of Kansas. I moved to laid back southwest Florida in 2001. I didn’t know a single person and didn’t have a job. Risky I know, but the ocean was calling and I had to answer.
I’m a huge fan of Kansas City sports, so you’ll probably see a lot of Jayhawks, Chiefs and Royals attire in my photos. Kansas City is a great town and I’m glad I’m from there, but the coastal life was calling. It’s kind of like Kenny Chesney’s “island boy” song. Check out the lyrics and you’ll see what I mean.
I write because I’m passionate about the Caribbean and the island lifestyle, and it’s my way to share it with you. If it has anything to do with the Caribbean, rum drinks, beach style music, or Caribbean culture, you’ll be able to find it on this site.
When in the Caribbean you’ll find a camera around my neck and note pad in my pocket. This is how I document the experiences in unique and interesting ways and bring it back to you, the Castaways.
Who is Castaway Crystal:
I was raised in Southwest Florida so it’s no surprise that I have a love for beaches, water and nature. As a child, most weekends were spent fishing in the warm gulf waters on the family boat. As an adult, most weekends are spent soaking up the sun on Ft. Myers Beach. Even though I have always loved the coastal life, I don’t think I fully appreciated it until I moved to Nashville, TN. I’m all about experiencing new things, and as a Licensed Massage Therapist I thought it would be amazing to massage some of Nashville’s biggest stars (a girl can dream right?). But I missed the sun and sand too much—and let’s not forget the rum runners! After a year I couldn’t take it anymore, this sun bunny moved back to her coast of somewhere beautiful.
I’ve always been passionate about photography and writing but my passions never really had a purpose until I met Ryan. I couldn’t be happier being Ryan’s first mate and sharing my photos and stories with you. May they inspire you to go after your tropical dreams and wishes. Make a plan…Set a date…Just go!

Travel In St Kitts, Caribbean
Travel around St Kitts with Wanderlust Chloe. St Kitts in the Caribbean is a paradise island packed full of things to do. Featuring zip-lining and rainforest treks, checking out the old forts and sugar plantations and long lazy days sunbathing on the beach!

In April 2016 I was asked to be an ambassador for St Kitts. I couldn’t wait to get straight out to the Caribbean and explore the island for myself. In this video I take you on a tour of the island, so if you’re planning a visit, this will certainly inspire you!
First stop, a visit to Brimstone Hill, the island’s old fortress. Then it’s up to Bellemont Farm, a part of Kittitian aHill. This is the uber luxury accommodation on the island with great views and sitting in the shadow of Mount Liamuiga.
You can’t have a holiday in the Caribbean and not try the rum punch. Thankfully there were plenty of chances to enjoy it, usually with an amazing view of the sea.
We spent an afternoon at Cockleshell Beach where we enjoyed a spot of sunbathing and kayaking.
I loved the rainforest hike and zip-lining. It was a great way to explore the less visited parts of the island, and get that hit of adrenaline too! It was also interesting checking out Ottley’s Plantation Inn. Sugar was the main industry on the island for a long time and the old plantations are fascinating to look around.
Basseterre, the capital of St Kitts, is lively, colourful and where you’ll find most of the island’s shops, cafes and markets. One of the most authentic Caribbean experiences was checking out the fishermen as they prepped their catches of the day on the beach.
One of my favourite adventures of the week was hopping on a private catamaran and heading snorkelling. We snorkelled with turtles and tropical fish, then stopped at the island of Nevis for rum punch!
We finished our week by travelling on the St Kitts Scenic Railway around the island. It’s a great way to see parts of the island you can’t reach by car.
