Vagamon Hill Station is located in Kottayam-Idukki border of Idukki district of Kerala on the Sahya mountains; an outdoor dream featuring beautiful verdant lush green grassy hills, velvet lawns amidst the mist, with a cool climate with the temperature between 10 and 23 °C during a summer. Vagamon is situated 1,100 meters above sea level and was discovered by the British who found the place ideal for tea plantations. Present day Kurisumala missionary monks built their monastery here too, and enhanced the local dairy farming industry. Vagamon is an ideal walking destination while on Holiday in India. The nearest popular tourist holiday resort to the more remote hills of Vagamon is Thekkady, a short distance away.
