Alamere Falls Hike - Northern California Natural Wonder
One of the best hikes we have ever experienced in Northern California. Absolutely amazing views and beautiful site to explore. Alamere Falls is a rare tidefall that flows directly into the ocean. We managed to spent a day hiking and admiring this natural wonder deep within the Phillip Burton Wilderness. Spring is the best time to visit. Strongly recommended if in San Francisco area.

This is my first try to make movie about our little road trip by one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Point Arena Lighthouse - A Tour - by Out & About Mendocino
The Panoramic Point Arena Lighthouse is set in one of the most spectacular yet peaceful surroundings on the northern California coast, the Point Arena tower is the only Pacific West coast lighthouse of significant height (115 feet) that you can climb to the top!
Guided tours of the light station as well as self guided tours of the grounds are available daily. Afterward, spend some time browsing through their Lighthouse Gift store, a shop featuring unique souvenirs, interesting gifts, custom made Abalone Jewelry, beautiful collectibles, and lighthouse clothing.
For those who want to spend more time by the sea you can stay in comfortable accommodations in their historic keepers' home vacation rentals which are available year round. Magnificent views, coastal mountains and the Pacific Ocean surrounding the point provides a beautiful backdrop for your special lighthouse wedding and other special events.
There are several sites for weddings on the grounds. You can pick the wedding site that you wish. RV and motor home parking are available. Visit the Point Arena Lighthouse today for one of your most memorable experiences on the breathtaking Mendocino Coast!
Planning your vacation:
The Lighthouse is situated on the closest point of land to the Hawaiian Islands in the Continental United States. The point is surrounded on three sides by the Pacific Ocean which keeps the area cool. The isolation and serenity of the Point makes a great place to take your vacation.
Your vacation can include lodging in one of lighthouse vacation rentals
as well as wine tasting tours, and tours of the art galleries to view art created by the many local artists. Horse riding is also available in our area. During the Spring and Fall seasons the whales and many other types of wildlife can be seen in the area.
You can visit their gift shop where exquisite abalone jewelry, work by local artists, Lighthouse clothing, gift certificates, music and other great gifts are available. Many of these items are great for Christmas gifts, anniversaries, birthdays, Valentines day and many other occasions.

Open 10:00am to 3:30pm Everyday in Winter and until 4:30 between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas
Heritage House Inn, Little River (Mendocino), CA - 01/21/13
This is a tribute to the former and historic Heritage House Inn in Little River, California, just south of Mendocino. For many, the Heritage House Inn was a favorite and romantic getaway right on the coast. My wife and I went to the beautifully landscaped resort annually, mainly staying in the Next Year and even the Same Time units, which was used for exterior shots in the movie Same Time Next Year. Unfortunately, the resort went through different owners, bankruptcy, back due taxes and ultimately closure around 2008. It is unclear if a new owner is involved, but there are work trucks and some construction going on. The landscaping is not as colorful as it once was (there are some brown patches here and there), but the large lawn area close to Highway 1 has been mowed.
In the video, we pass the Heritage House Inn three times: first heading south, made a U-turn to head back north, and then turned around to finally go back south. Here's hoping this brings back some memories to those who have stayed at this quiet and relaxing, yet simple, resort. At least, my wife and I will always have fond memories of our stay there.
