Glückstadt (Danish: Lykstad) is a town in the Steinburg district of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is located on the right bank of the Lower Elbe at the confluence of the small Rhin river, about 45 km (28 mi) northwest of Altona. Glückstadt is part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region (Metropolregion Hamburg).
Glückstadt was founded in 1617 on the marsh lands along the Elbe by the Duke of Holstein, King Christian IV of Denmark of Denmark, who had levees and fortifications built as well as a ducal residence. Its name translates to English literally as Luck City or Fortune City. As Christian IV promised the settlers tax exemption and freedom of religion, Glückstadt soon became an important trading centre, intended to compete with the Imperial city of Hamburg, located upstream on the Elbe. After the king had interfered in the Thirty Years' War the town in 1627/28 was besieged for fifteen weeks by the united Imperial and Catholic troops under the command of Albrecht von Wallenstein and Count Tilly, though without success.

Drone 4K / 25hours Hotel Düsseldorf Das Tour / Luftaufnahme
Fly with our drone in 4K above the 25hours Hotel Düsseldorf Das Tour! L‘ amour toujours ( ) – a very special liaison in the new Düsseldorf district Le Quartier Central: The major Rhine city of Düsseldorf and its proximity to France inspired the Swedish creative team, Stylt Trampoli, to weave German engineering and French artistic flair into a holistic concept for the 25hours Hotel Das Tour. Highlights include the restaurant and bar: The Paris Club extends over two storeys: The restaurant on the 16th floor is the place to meet for lunch or dinner. Visitors to the 17th-floor bar enjoy a spectacular view of Düsseldorf while sampling our range of French highballs. The rooms? Languorous, artistic charm and warm hues in the French Chambres, or straightforward design and clear colours in the German Rooms. The two worlds collide in the Melange Suites. The spa on the 14th floor offers a similarly breathtaking view. Travellers and locals will find a French café, a kiosk and a bike shop on the ground floor.
The spa at the 25hours Hotel Das Tour is inspired by the Tour de France. Laid out on the 14th floor, the sauna and fitness area with suitable equipment commands a breathtaking view of the city. The cosy rest area is an oasis of calm after a long day, and a fountain shower on the balcony outside adds a truly invigorating experience. The 25hours Hotel Das Tour is situated in the middle of one of the most exciting urban development projects in Germany – the Le Quartier Central. From here you are just a few steps away from the legendary old town – the longest bar in Germany. And the centre of Düsseldorf is also just around the corner. Our neighbouring cooperation partner Evo Fitness offers a free of charge fitness training for our guests from 6am - 11pm. The access code is available at our reception. We are partnered with Vishnus Vibes Yoga Studio next door, which means that all of our guests may hand in a voucher to get a special price of EUR 13 for all current yoga courses.
There is a wide range of dynamic and relaxed courses for beginners, advanced yogis and pregnant women. Simply take a look at the course schedule to see what they have on today.
The voucher to be handed in at the yoga studio can be obtained here at reception.
The conference facilities in the 25hours Hotel Das Tour are located on the 1st floor. A French country house kitchen in the foyer outside the meeting rooms creates a relaxed atmosphere and is a useful feature for conference breaks. The conference room l’Atelier comes with modern equipment and has space for up to 50 people. Two smaller adjoining rooms are ideal places for breakout sessions.
25hours Hotels are design hotels, inspired by the spirit of our times. But design is about more than just looking good and shouldn’t be overestimated. Of course, we love brilliantly designed rooms and occasionally exclusive furnishings, too, but the story a work of art, a vintage object or a little detail tells is just as important. Sometimes we like to be adventurous, sometimes romantic, but always cosy. With such a diverse range of designs, it’s hardly surprising that almost every visit to one of our hotels brings a new and interesting discovery. Guests should be constantly surprised, reaching for their camera to share their impressions with family and friends. Because our guests’ stories are our stories. 25hours Hotels are sexy, cheeky, bold, innovative, cosmopolitan, unique, charismatic, a little crazy, and locally connected.

City Walks - Aberdeen Scotland Walking Tour 02 - Virtual walk and Walking Treadmill Video
City Walks - Aberdeen Scotland Walking Tour 02 - Virtual walk and Walking Treadmill Video explores the granite city.
Aberdeen is known as the Granite City which implies a bleak and grey city. We found it to be absolutely beautiful with lots of great museums, hotels, restaurants, and leafy parks. This walking treadmill video is the second of two around this port city, known for its wealth due to the oil industry. The first treadmill walk explores the main old town and this explores the harbor. The north sea oil fields have been crucial to the modern development of Aberdeen and it's why many of the museums have free entry.
If you want a guided tours of scotland, there are many companies that do that but this is a free walking tour of this lovely city and a great starter if you want to visit Aberdeen. Aberdeen is the city, Aberdeenshire is the large county.
I hope you enjoy this walk. We had a great time in the city and it would be a wonderful place to launch a tour of Scotland.

From Wikipedia:
Aberdeen is a city in northeast Scotland. It is Scotland's third most populous city, one of Scotland's 32 local government council areas and the United Kingdom's 39th most populous built-up area, with an official population estimate of 196,670 for the city of Aberdeen and 228,800 for the local council area.
During the mid-18th to mid-20th centuries, Aberdeen's buildings incorporated locally quarried grey granite, which can sparkle like silver because of its high mica content. Since the discovery of North Sea oil in the 1970s, Aberdeen has been known as the off-shore oil capital of Europe. The area around Aberdeen has been settled for at least 8,000 years, when prehistoric villages lay around the mouths of the rivers Dee and Don. The city has a long, sandy coastline and a marine climate, the latter resulting in chilly summers and mild winters.
Aberdeen received Royal burgh status from David I of Scotland (1124–1153), transforming the city economically. The city's two universities, the University of Aberdeen, founded in 1495, and Robert Gordon University, which was awarded university status in 1992, make Aberdeen the educational centre of the north-east of Scotland. The traditional industries of fishing, paper-making, shipbuilding, and textiles have been overtaken by the oil industry and Aberdeen's seaport. Aberdeen Heliport is one of the busiest commercial heliports in the world and the seaport is the largest in the north-east of Scotland.
Aberdeen hosts the Aberdeen International Youth Festival, a major international event which attracts up to 1000 of the most talented young performing arts companies. In 2015, Mercer named Aberdeen the 57th most liveable city in the world, as well as the fourth most liveable city in Britain. In 2012, HSBC named Aberdeen as a leading business hub and one of eight 'super cities' spearheading the UK's economy, marking it as the only city in Scotland to receive this accolade. In 2018, Aberdeen was found to be the best city in the UK to start a business in a study released by card payment firm Paymentsense.
