Highlights of my first trip to Japan

Here's a summary of our quick vacay:
1. We explored Osaka and dedicated a day tour in Kyoto.
2. I always thought that Japan is only for the ~rich~. BUT IT'S NOT. This is a budget trip -- I managed to spend less than 30,000php all-in (including airfare, terminal fee, accommodation, Universal Studios admission, shopping (for self and for others. LOL), etc.)
3. Plan ahead -- make your itinerary as detailed as possible so that you would know the best route to take, must-eat places, things to buy in Japan and many more


I guarantee that you will LOVE Japan as much as I did. Transportation is efficient, people are really nice and would even go out of their way to help you and food if GREAT.

Uchiko-za (内子座) is a fully operational kabuki theater in the center of town, and a distinguishing feature and point of pride of Uchiko The beautiful, multi-story building was built to celebrate Taisho Emperor’s enthronement in 1916 by art lovers. Ｉｔ continues to occasionally host various events, including kabuki and bunraku performances.

Visitors can enter Uchiko-za and explore the many trap doors and hidden passageways around the stage. Kabuki stages are known for their elaborate design, allowing for sudden dissapearances, dramatic entrances and the like. At Uchiko-za, visitors have the opportunity to examine the mechanics of such stage choreography.

What is Kabuki?
It is a composite art which fused together traditional Japanese music, dance and theatrical performance. The origin date backthe early Edo Period (1603-1867).
