Manitoulin Bridal Veil Falls, Kagawong Canada
An Ojibwe word, Kagawong means 'mists rising from falling water'. The 12 metre (40 foot) Bridal Veil Falls forms a scenic basin where it plunges over limestone cap rock on Lake Huron's Manitoulin Island near Kagawong, Ontario, Canada.
Manitoulin Island is the largest fresh water Island in the world.It is also the biggest kept secret in Ontario. If you would like to enjoy nature while being active then you must visit this Island. It also has hundreds of km of biking routes and some of the routes are considered the best in Ontario. This scenic route is also the best during fall for enjoying fall colours. The deep waters at the mouth of Georgian Bay are home to Fathom Five, Canada's first National Marine Conservation Area. The park preserves a rich cultural legacy that includes 22 shipwrecks and several historic lighthouses. Fathom Five’s freshwater ecosystem contains some of the most pristine waters of the Great Lakes. The rugged islands of the park are a reminder of the impressive lakebed topography found beneath the waves. There are glass-bottom cruises at Tobermory which offer tours to the park, as well as the rugged north coast of the Bruce Peninsula.
