KIHNU ISLAND ESTONIA
The unique island of Kihnu in the Gulf of Riga in the Baltic has UNESCO recognition for the folk and traditions of the families who live and work there all year round.
The men and women do tend to live very different lives but their long established folk traditions, customs and music hold them together in such a unique way in these modern times.
3 day celebrations of wedding is a typical reason why UNESCO has given their blessing on such a one off way of life!

A journey along the Romantic Coastline is a journey through Pärnu County in Estonia, which leads the wanderer along the almost 250 km long Estonian coastline, with exotic diversions to the famous Kihnu island and also into the interior where there are remaining signs of the former Baltic coastline from ancient times. The Romantic Coastline combines roads and paths, cultural, historical and natural values, which remain within the boundaries of ten parishes of Pärnu County, each containing their own unique characteristics.A journey along the Romantic Coastline is a journey through Pärnu County in Estonia, which leads the wanderer along the almost 250 km long Estonian coastline, with exotic diversions to the famous Kihnu island and also into the interior where there are remaining signs of the former Baltic coastline from ancient times. Hiiumaa - Second Largest Island in Estonia - visitestonia.com
The second largest island was formed as a result of a meteor explosion. It has an airport with flights to Tallinn but you can also access via ice-road from the mainland, in winter. Hiiumaa is well known for its lighthouses, unspoilt nature, Hill of crosses and the sense of humour of its inhabitants.
