10. Slotsholmen
Slotsholmen is an island in the harbour of Copenhagen and part of Copenhagen Inner City. The name is taken from the successive castles and palaces located on the island since Bishop Absalon constructed the city's first castle on the island in 1167 at the site where Christiansborg Palace lies today.

The National Museum of Denmark (Nationalmuseet) in Copenhagen is Denmark's largest museum of cultural history, comprising the histories of Danish and foreign cultures, alike. It contains exhibits from around the world, from Greenland to South America. 8. Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek
The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek (Glypto-, from the Greek root glyphein, to carve and theke, a storing-place) is an art museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. The collection is built around the personal collection of Carl Jacobsen (1842--1914), the son of the founder of the Carlsberg Breweries.
7. Statens Museum for Kunst
Statens Museum for Kunst is the Danish national gallery located in Copenhagen. The museum collects, registers, maintains, researches in and handles Danish and foreign art dating from the 14th century till the present day, mostly with their origins in western culture circles.
6. Amalienborg
Amalienborg is the winter home of the Danish royal family. It consists of four identical classicizing palace façades with rococo interiors around an octagonal courtyard; in the centre of the square is a monumental equestrian statue of Amalienborg's founder, King Frederick V.
5. Kongens Nytorv & Nyhavn
Kongens Nytorv (lit. King's New Square) is a public square in Copenhagen, centrally located at the end of the pedestrian street Strøget. The finest and largest square of the city, it was laid out by Christian V in 1670 in connection with a major extension of the fortified city, and has an equestrian statue of him at its centre.
4. The Latin Quarter
The Latin Quarter is a neighbourhood in central Copenhagen. The name refers to the Latin language, which was once widely spoken in and around the University, whose historic home is situated on the other side of Nørregade. Most of the student life has now been relocated to four new campuses but the area is still known for its lively atmosphere with an abundance of boutiques, cafés and night clubs.
3. Rosenborg Castle & Kongens Have
Rosenborg Castle is a renaissance castle located in Copenhagen. The castle was originally built as a country summerhouse in 1606 and is an example of Christian IV's many architectural projects. It was built in the Dutch Renaissance style, typical of Danish buildings during this period, and has been expanded several times, finally evolving into its present condition by the year 1624.
2. Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli Gardens (or simply Tivoli) is a famous amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen. The park opened on 15 August 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world, after Dyrehavsbakken in nearby Klampenborg. Tivoli is the second most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most visited theme park in Scandinavia and the fourth most visited in Europe, only behind Disneyland Paris, Europa-Park Rust and the Efteling.

Bakken - World´s Oldest Amusement Park - Dyrehavsbakken - Copenhagen Attractions - Travel Video
Copenhagen Travel Video - This is Bakken, the World´s Oldest, still active, Amusement Park. We are at Dyrehavsbakken (known to most as Bakken) located in Klampenborg a very short train ride outside of the City of Copenhagen, Denmark. The origins of Dyrehavsbakken have been traced back to 1583, making it the oldest amusement park. The second oldest amusement park in the World just so happens to also be located in Denmark, more specifically in the City of Copenhagen and is called Tivoli. Tivoli is one of the Top Copenhagen attractions to visit for any traveler visiting Denmark and Copenhagen.
Bakken although located a very short train ride outside of Copenhagen City is apparently not so well known to tourists despite it being the World´s oldest amusement Park. Traveller Channel highly recommends that visitors to Copenhagen add this beautiful, charming and very unique amusement park to their top attractions to visit list when in Copenhagen. We at Traveller Channel (Maxi & Maro) enjoy visiting this park as it offers a beautiful walk through the forest where you often spot herds of Deer walking freely through the forests, and above all the park offers a huge variety of restaurants offering everything from Traditional Danish Foods to all you can eat Burgers and Steaks. This NO COMMENT tour begins where we arrive at Klampenborg Station on the DSB S-Train. The footage then follows our route from the station, to the entrance, through the forest and into and around the Bakken Amusement Park, where we have also included footage of the very new attraction the Town of Korsbæk based on the fictional Danish TV serial Matador (this attraction probably has most meaning to Danes or people who are familiar with the television serial). While filming this footage Bakken was hosting the annual Santa Claus Congress which takes place at Bakken every Year. This is the reason you will notice Christmas Trees, decorations and Santa´s appearing in and around our tour of the Bakken Amusement Park. Tivoli Gardens
A famous amusement park and pleasure garden. Opened on 15 August 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world. The second most popular seasonal theme park in the world, the most visited theme park in Scandinavia.
The Little Mermaid
A bronze statue by Edvard Eriksen, depicting a mermaid. Displayed on a rock by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade. Is 1.25 metres (4.1 ft) tall and weighs 175 kilograms (385 lb).
Rosenborg Castle
A renaissance castle. Was originally built as a country summerhouse in 1606 and is an example of Christian IV's many architectural projects. Was used by Danish regents as a royal residence until around 1710.
Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek
An art museum. The collection is built around the personal collection of Carl Jacobsen (1842–1914), the son of the founder of the Carlsberg Breweries. The focal point of the museum is antique sculpture from the ancient cultures around the Mediterranean.
Rundetårn
A 17th-century tower. Was built as an astronomical observatory. It is most noted for its equestrian staircase, a 7.5-turn helical corridor leading to the top, and for the expansive views it affords over Copenhagen.
Frederik's Church
An Evangelical Lutheran church. Was designed by the architect Nicolai Eigtved in 1740. Has the largest church dome in Scandinavia with a span of 31m. The foundation stone was set by king Frederick V on October 31, 1749.
Copenhagen Zoo
A zoological garden. Founded in 1859, it is one of the oldest zoos in Europe. The most visited zoo and 4th most visited attraction in Denmark. The only one in Europe to house Tasmanian devils. Has the rare Amur leopard, okapi and muskox.
Kastellet
One of the best preserved star fortresses in Northern Europe. Constructed in the form of a pentagram with bastions at its corners. Houses various military activities but its mainly serves as a public park and a historic site.
Gefion Fountain
A large fountain on the harbour front. Features a large-scale group of animal figures being driven by the legendary Norse goddess, Gefjun. The largest monument in Copenhagen and used as a wishing well.
Dyrehavsbakken
An amusement park near Klampenborg. Opened in 1583. The world's oldest operating amusement park. Home to six roller coasters: the most famous of which is Rutschebanen - a wooden roller coaster open since 1932

Bicycle tours
City Safari offers a number of themed bicycle tours, including 'The Historic Copenhagen', 'Round Carlsberg', 'In the Footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen' or 'The Big Architecture Ride'. These tours last for four and a half hours. They are in Danish and English and start from the Danish Centre for Architecture in the Gammel Dok Storehouse on Christianshavn.
Boat tours
DFDS Canal Tours operates multilingual guided tours of the harbour and the canal; boats depart every half hour daily from April to October and every one to two hours November to March from Nyhavn or Gammel Strand. Tours last about 50 minutes. They also operate hop-on, hop-off Waterbus tours without guides. There are two routes, which both depart from Nyhavn. The same company offers a two-hour 'Dinner Cruise' featuring a two-course menu while cruising through historic, maritime Copenhagen. Netto Boats offers a one-hour guided tour of the harbour and canals. Boats depart frequently April to October from outside Holmens Church, opposite the Old Stock Exchange, and from Nyhavn. They only operate at the weekend between November and March.
Bus tours
Paaske Bus organises a number of bus tours around Copenhagen, lasting from one to two and a half hours. The company also operates the open top tours, one-hour, hop-on, hop-off multilingual tours of all the main sights in the centre of Copenhagen.
Kayak tours
Copenhagen Adventure Tours offers guided tours of Copenhagen's waterways in kayaks with professional instructors, which depart from the canal behind the opera building on Holmen and last from 90 minutes to three hours.
Walking tours
Copenhagen Walking Tours offers two-hour, English-language tours, year-round. They cover a range of interests, such as 'Rosenborg Castle', 'Historic Copenhagen' or a walk in the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen. These tours must be pre-booked. During the summer, enjoy a specialist walking tour. It is possible to step back in time and walk the streets with The Night Watchmen of Copenhagen on one of their rounds, tour jazz venues with Copenhagen Jazz Guides or enjoy gastro, design or architectural-themed tours with Cph:cool.

Bakken amusement park
Located in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen and accessed by S-train C to Klampenborg, the Bakken amusement park provides an attractive and low-cost alternative to Tivoli. The oldest amusement park in Europe is open daily from March/April to August, most days staying open 1200-2400. It boasts wooded parkland and herds of deer as well as the usual roller-coasters and rides. Admission to the park is free and all rides are charged at different prices, although it is possible to get a single one-day 'ticket' for all the rides in Bakken in the form of a wristband.
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
This museum is set in lovely parkland, on the North Zealand coast, 35km (22 miles) north of Copenhagen. It houses a world-class collection of modern art by artists such as Francis Bacon, Max Ernst, Giacometti, Henry Moore, Picasso and Andy Warhol. Humlebæk-Louisiana Station is a 36-minute train ride from Copenhagen. Drivers can take the picturesque coastal road, Strandvejen. The museum is open Tues-Fri 1100-2200, Sat-Sun 1100-1800. Admission charges apply.
Roskilde
Roskilde, the oldest town in Denmark, is situated about 10km (6 miles) west of Copenhagen - a 30-minute train journey from the city. It is famed for its Viking heritage, as the Roskilde Museum, Sankt Ols Gade 18, reveals. The museum is open daily 1100-1600 and charges admission. The local tourist information office at Stændertorvet 1 can provide details of other interesting sites, such as the Domkirke, Ledreborg Castle and the Roskilde Fjord.

The Round Tower (Rundetårn) on Købmagergade - A Copenhagen viewpoint & a top attraction Copenhagen
We are at The Round Tower (Rundetårn) located on the Købmagergade walking street in the Old Town part of Copenhagen in Denmark. Rundetårn (or The Round Tower as it is called in English) is one of Copenhagen´s top tourist attractions and one of the best places to get a breathtaking 360 degree view of the City of Copenhagen (one of Copenhagen´s best, if not the best viewpoint of the city). If you continue walking down Købmagergade you will eventually reach Copenhagen´s most famous walking Street , Strøget (Stroget).

The tower is part of the Trinitatis Complex which also provided the scholars of the time with a university chapel, the Trinitatis Church, and an academic library which was the first purpose-built facilities of the Copenhagen University Library which had been founded in 1482.
Spiral Walk
The Spiral walk leading to the top of the Round Tower is a unique piece of European architecture. This 209 meter long spiral walk winds 7 1/2 times around Rundtårns hollow core right up to the final stone stairs that lead the visitor ono the 360 degree viewing platform. This spiral walk is the buildings only connection between the tower and the library room (exhibition hall nowadays) ringer ceiling, tower and church.
Library Room
About halfway up the tower you will arrive at the Library room. The Library room is a huge 900 square meter hall which nowadays is used for exhibitions and other cultural events throughout the year. This is also where Rundetårn´s shop and café are located. Your admission ticket to the Round Tower also gives you (the visitor) access to the exhibition hall.
Bell Loft
The Ringer Ceiling or Bell Loft is located toward the top of The Round Tower.
The impressive original timber structure is still intact and visible on Ringer Ceiling of the Library Hall, where among other things you can see the big clock from 1731, and other things from the tower and church history.
The View
Rundetårn (The Round Tower) provides a spectacular 360 degree view of the City of Copenhagen. The viewing platform of the tower lies 34.8 meters above street level and from there
you can among other things look out over the old Latin Quarter and spot the city's most famous buildings.
Observatory
The Observatory which lies at the top of Rundetårn (The Round Tower) is Europe´s oldest functioning observatory. It was used by the University of Copenhagen until 1861, but today anyone can visit the observatory and study the stars in the sky and planets through the telescope.

KLAMPENBORG BELLEVUE BEACH NEAR COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
After a walk in the Bakken amusement park (also located in Klampenborg) we went to the beautiful Bellevue Beach (about 10km north of Copenhagen) for some relaxation and great views. We hope you'll enjoy what you see as much as we did!
