Parinirvana Stupa is a Buddhist temple in Kushinagar, India which is said to be the death place of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Alexander Cunningham gains the most attention for his work in the area, because he conclusively proved that Gautama Buddha had died in the area. The present temple was built by the Indian Government in 1956 as part of the commemoration of the 2,500th year of the Mahaparinivana or 2500 BE . Inside this temple, there is Reclinging Buddha image lying on its right side with the head to the north. The statue is 6.1 m long and rests on a stone couch.

The Padrauna Palace in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh

Padrauna is a small town, and district headquarters of Kushinagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Its ancient name was Pava where lord Buddha took his last meal. It is the place where Lord Rama spent a few days of his life. Lord Rama passed from Padrauna and after that he reached at Ramkola where he made a hut with his wife Sita and younger brother Lakshman to stay. Padrauna is also the place of ancient Malla Kshatriyas who were following a democratic way of ruling from their Santhagara.

Kusinagar or Kusinara is a town and a nagar panchayat in Kushinagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Gautama Buddha have attained Parinirvana after his death.
Buddhist Attractions in Kushinagar-
1-Nirvana Stupa and temple - This stupa made of bricks, excavated by Carlleyl in 1867, stands at a height of 2.74 meter. The excavations leading to the finding of the copper vessel and the Brahmi inscription on it proving the matter that Buddhas ashes were buried in the pace, made this place a suddenly important destination for all Buddhists devotees. Besides, the huge reclining statue of Buddha in the temple is also very attractive.
2-Mahaparinirvana temple :- This is more than 6 meters long statue of reclining Buddha. The image was unearthed during the excavations of 1876. Carved from Chunar sandstone, the statue represents the dying Buddha reclining on his right side
3-Wat Thai temple :- The unique temple, built to celebrate the victory of King Bhumibol's great accession of the throne, and the subsequent Golden Jubilee, is worth a watch, especially because of the innumerable trees that were planted here.Besides, there's the Chinese temple, the Meditation Park and an International Buddha trust, and the Birla temple to add charm to roaming around in the city.
4-Ramabhar Stupa : About 1.5 km away from Mahaparinirvana Temple, this large Stupa rises to a height of 49 ft. It marks the site where the Lord Buddha was cremated. In ancient Buddhist texts, this Stupa has been referred to as 'Mukut-Bandhan Vihar'.
5-Japanese temple : A beautiful eight metals statue of the Buddha, which was brought from from Japan, can be visited here.
