509-La Verkin UT, UN Free Zone and Pah Tempe Hot Springs
La Verkin is a city in Washington County, Utah.
The population of La Verkin is around 5000, and it’s in walking distance of Hurricane, and the two cities have historically had close ties.
Theories about the origin of the city's name suggest that it may be a corruption of the Spanish la virgen, after the nearby Virgin River,] or possibly an error in the transcription of the term beaver skin.
La Verkin contains the southernmost highway junction to Zion National Park, at the intersection of Utah SR-9.
There's also a noted pony-truss style bridge, built in 1908, that rises some 200 feet over the river, spanning over 75 feet in length.
The city made national headlines in 2001 when the City Council passed an ordinance declaring La Verkin a United Nations-free zone.
La Verkin is the 'mouse that roared,' only to be crushed by the [Utah] state attorney general, the threatening communist ACLU group, the world government U.N., and the Utah media.
The night of July 4, 2001 was surreal in the tiny town of La Verkin, Utah.
On that night, specifically chosen for its patriotic symbolism, the Mayor and City Council met in special session to address what it saw as an urgent constitutional and international crisis.
They hoped to save the citizens of their town from a pernicious evil that the Congress, President, and Supreme Court of the United States seemed to ignore: the United Nations' designs to usurp the U.S.'s national sovereignty.
Kind of the opposite, where the state of California declaring itself a sanctuary state and as such proclaiming the state will not follow US Federal immigration laws.
In either case, neither has the best interest of our country
The La Verkin City Council decided to act by passing a U.N.-free zone ordinance.
Not surprisingly, the ordinance sparked sharp criticism.
Almost two weeks later the La Verkin Mayor said, We've been pushed far enough, and long enough. We're tired of marching to [the U.N.] agenda. . . .
Maybe La Verkin is the crucible to get the rest of the cities and the national government to listen.
Newspaper accounts cite a Councilman as saying, after displaying a map of the United States color-coded with areas purportedly under U.N. control, You may only have two years of freedom in this country, and I'm saying we do not want that to happen.'
The debate continued until July 24, 2001, when, by a thin 3-2 margin, the City Council voted in favor of a revised, and significantly watered down, U.N.- free zone ordinance.
At the height of the tempest, La Verkin's reputation actually inspired curious, passing tourists to inquire at City Hall about buying anti-U.N. merchandise.
Six months later, the storm seemed to have passed as quickly as it came.
Although La Verkin was the first local government to adopt a U.N.- free zone ordinance, it has not been the last.
In 2001, the City Council of Bingham, New Mexico adopted an ordinance similar in style and scope to the one in La Verkin.
In 2003, voters in Grant County, Oregon, approved a similar U.N.-free zone ordinance.
In addition, a local citizen's group has unsuccessfully lobbied Lincoln County in Montana to adopt a comparable ordinance.
Thus, although hardly a legislative stampede, the anti-U.N. movement is not isolated to La Verkin.

Hop Valley - Zion National Park
The trail begins from the Kolob Terrace Road and wanders through the open fields with wide open views of the surrounding rock formations. As you near Hop Valley, the trail starts its descent. The valley floor of Hop Valley is breathtaking with its flat sandy bottom and vertical walls rising on both sides. The trail is very sandy and well worn. The campsites are at the far end of the valley before the steep descent into La Verkin Creek. This trail is best in the spring, summer and fall. The trail typically has snow in the winter that can remain until early spring. Camping is permitted in designated sites only.

503-St George UT, Contrails, Radiation, Traffic
This is St. George the county seat of Washington County, Utah.
We just crossed the Arizona border, near the tri-state junction of Utah, Arizona and Nevada. The city lies in the northeastern-most part of the Mojave Desert adjacent to the Pine Valley Mountains near the convergence of three distinct geological areas: the Mojave Desert, Colorado Plateau, and Great Basin. The city is named after George A. Smith, a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Apostle aka LDS. As of 2015, St. George had a population of 80,202, and the metropolitan area, defined as Washington County, had an estimated population of 155,600.St. George is the seventh-largest city in Utah and the most populous city in the state outside of the Wasatch Front.In 2005, St. George was ranked the second fastest-growing metropolitan area in the United States, behind only Greeley, Colorado. In 2010, growth slowed substantially due to the economic recession. Growth has since rebounded and St. George was declared the fifth fastest-growing metropolitan area in the United States in 2015. I expect this growth to continue.
Driving through here 20+ years ago, one of the things I loved about this area was the clear, blue skies. But something has changed. I’ve observed jet planes flying over this area leaving what some people call persistent contrails and other people call chemtrails.
The odd thing was that I saw these persistent trails behind three planes that were heading roughly south, laying trails that were spreading out and merging to cover the sky like a canopy. There is a regional airport in St George and many fly over the area from Salt Lake to Las Vegas or LA off to the west and flights off to the East that are probably from Salt Lake to Phoenix. There are many more planes in the sky than I’d ever seen before and nearly all of them leaving behind these spreading contrails that start to create a grey haze over the once blue skies here. I’d heard of chemtrails before, but hadn’t given them much thought, so I started looking up information on the topic. It soon became apparent to me that these trails I was seeing weren’t contrails. They had to be these chemtrails I've heard people talk about. To elaborate, contrails are related to the phenomenon that allows you to see your breath on a cold day. The moist, warm air from your breath, forms tiny, visible ice crystals as you exhale, which rapidly dissipate. In the same way, the moist air from the jet engine can form a trail of ice crystals when the temperature and weather conditions are right. These trails, however, rapidly dissipate. This was brought home to me just last week when I saw a regular jet liner in the air leaving a normal contrail. It was forming behind the plane, but stayed the same length as the jet moved forward. It didn’t persist.
I’ve seen planes leaving persistant contrails that were completely different than the commercial jet. The contrast was obvious.
I've also noticed these planes while driving to Las Vegas. There is an airforce base there.
There are many people who would say that chemtrails are a “conspiracy theory.”
This term is used to dismiss people who present evidence of suspicious activities without having to logically address their concerns.
I've never been one to dismiss things that offhandedly, but I’m also one who likes to do a little research before making up my mind.
I will leave it up to you to investigate all this for yourself and make up your own mind.
In the early 1950s, St. George received the brunt of the fallout of above-ground nuclear testing at the Yucca Flats/Nevada Test Site northwest of Las Vegas. Winds routinely carried the fallout of these tests directly through the St. George and southern Utah area were reported from the mid-1950s until the early 1980s

Kolob Canyons Utah: Zion National Park's Hidden Gem
The popular main section of Zion National Park is surely a thrill, but there are other areas of the park that are often overlooked by visitors. Kolob Canyons to the north of the main park is an example, and that's too bad. Driving the park's winding red (from embedded sandstone) road, is a thrill a minute as wide vistas of shockingly red cliffs, bold green trees, and bright blue skies (at least on the day we were there) combine to create unsurpassed natural masterpieces. Free Saratoga Hot Springs (Van Life in Utah)
There is a couple great little hot spring ponds in Saratoga Springs, Utah where we've spend a couple afternoons. The first time we went in, there was snow all around us and it had been snowing earlier in the day! Luckily, the hot springs were warm enough to keep us happy and toasty.

Fly with Me | Salt Lake City, Bryce Canyon, and Zion National Park
For spring break I flew to Salt Lake City, Utah. I spent my first day there and then took a scenic road trip to Bryce Canyon National Park, which is where the first part of this video takes place. It was absolutely beautiful and my videos don't show you how huge the canyon actually is. Around the outside of Bryce I saw a group of wild turkeys and prairie dogs(which are in the video). After Bryce, I went on another scenic drive to Zion National Park which was also very beautiful and got to hike to weeping rock, the emerald pools, and all along the river. Along the route to Zion I found lots of different minerals on hiking paths like pink alabaster, petrified wood, and sandstone. The Red Cliffs National Conservation Area is a 44,724-acre National Conservation Area located in southwest Utah near St. George at the northeastern-most edge of the Mojave Desert. To get to this hike, take the exit 22 (Leeds) off I-15, just north of Hurricane Utah.
