Yvoire - One of the most beautiful villages in France
Join us on our tour through one of the cutest little medieval villages in France – Yvoire. Stones and flowers will be everywhere you look.
You will see the beautiful Yvoire castle that was built in 1306 during the village fortification by the Comte de Savoie Amédée V. At first, the castle served for military purposes, as it had an ideal location to watch and control the road which linked Geneva to the high valley of the Rhône and Italy.
Yvorie is ranked as one of the International Laureates of Floral Decorations and a member of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Although this information speaks enough on its own, you should definitely come here to check if it deserves such high reputation.

Places to see in ( Toulon - France )
Places to see in ( Toulon - France )
Toulon is a port city on southern France’s Mediterranean coast, lined with sandy beaches and shingle coves. It’s a significant naval base and the harbor is home to submarines and warships, as well as fishing boats and ferries. The grand Musée National de la Marine in the Port of Toulon exhibits maritime artifacts. Rugged limestone mountains form a backdrop to the city, and a cable car shuttles visitors up Mont Faron.
Toulon is a city in southern France and a large military harbour on the Mediterranean coast, with a major French naval base. Located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region, Toulon is the capital of the Var department.
The old town of Toulon, the historic centre located between the port, the Boulevard de Strasbourg and the Cours Lafayette, is a pedestrian area with narrow streets, small squares and many fountains. Toulon Cathedral is located here. The area is also home of the celebrated Provençal market which takes place every morning on the Cours Lafayette. Fontaine du Dauphin, Place Paul Comte. The fountain, on the wall of the Bishop's residence, appears in the drawings of Toulon made for Louis XIV in 1668. Fontaine des Trois Dauphins, Place Puget (1782). Fontaine de l'Intendance, Place Amiral Sénès, (1821). The Fontaine-Lavoir de Saint-Vincent, Place Saint-Vincent (1832), replaced the original fountain built in 1615. It had a fountain for drinking water and two basins, for washing clothes, one for washing and one for rinsing.
The upper town, between the Boulevard de Strasbourg and the railway station, was built in the mid-19th century under Louis Napoleon. The project was begun by Baron Haussmann, who was prefect of the Var in 1849. Improvements to the neighbourhood included the Toulon Opera, the Place de la Liberté, the Grand Hôtel, the Gardens of Alexander I, the Chalucet Hospital, the palais de Justice, the train station, and the building now occupied by Galeries Lafayette, among others. Haussmann went on to use the same style on a much grander scale in the rebuilding of central Paris.
Le Mourillon is a small seaside neighbourhood to the east of Toulon. Mount Faron (584 metres (1,916 feet)) dominates the city of Toulon. The top can be reached either by a cable car from Toulon. Beginning in 1678, Vauban constructed an elaborate system of fortifications around Toulon. Some parts, such as the section that once ran along the present-day Boulevard de Strasbourg, were removed in the mid-19th century.
Toulon has a number of museums. The Museum of the French Navy (Musée national de la marine) is located on Place Monsenergue. The Museum of Old Toulon and its Region (Musée du vieux Toulon et de sa région). The Museum of Asian Arts (Musée des arts asiatiques), in Mourillon. The Museum of Art (Musée d'art) . The Memorial Museum to the Landings in Provence (Mémorial du débarquement de Provence) is located on the summit of Mount Faron. The Museum of Natural History of Toulon and the Var (Musée d'histoire naturelle de Toulon et du Var). The Hôtel des arts was opened in 1998, presents five exhibits a year of works by well-known contemporary artists.
Toulon is served by the Gare de Toulon railway station, offering suburban services to Marseille (1 train every 15minutes during rush hour), Nice, Paris and regional destinations. The port of Toulon is the main port of departure for ferries to Corsica. The nearest airport is the regional Toulon-Hyères Airport. The A50 autoroute connects Toulon to Marseille, the A57 autoroute runs from Toulon to Le Luc, where it connects to the A8 autoroute

Arc de Triomphe - Paris, France | Place Charles de Gaulle Etoile
Arc de Triomphe - Paris, France. The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (originally named Place de l'Étoile), at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. It should not be confused with a smaller arch, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which stands west of the Louvre. The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.
The Arc de Triomphe is the linchpin of the Axe historique (historic axis) – a sequence of monuments and grand thoroughfares on a route which runs from the courtyard of the Louvre to the Grande Arche de la Défense. The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806 and its iconographic program pits heroically nude French youths against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail. It set the tone for public monuments with triumphant patriotic messages.
The monument stands 50 metres (164 ft) in height, 45 m (148 ft) wide and 22 m (72 ft) deep. The large vault is 29.19 m (95.8 ft) high and 14.62 m (48.0 ft) wide. The small vault is 18.68 m (61.3 ft) high and 8.44 m (27.7 ft) wide. Its design was inspired by the Roman Arch of Titus. The Arc de Triomphe is built on such a large scale that, three weeks after the Paris victory parade in 1919 (marking the end of hostilities in World War I), Charles Godefroy flew his Nieuport biplane through it, with the event captured on newsreel.

What to do in Geneva and Annecy for a few hours?
I found a house party online in a group that I'm part of on Facebook, and decided to ask the French girl who was throwing the party whether I could come. She actually said yes, so I booked a flight from Manchester to Geneva, which was the closest airport to where she lived. I flew out at 7am Saturday morning and flew back at midday on Sunday. I didn't look much further than whether you could get a bus from Geneva to Annecy (which you could.)
It turns out that she lived miles outside of Annecy and you'll find out how that played for me if you watch this travel vlog.
In this Geneva vlog and Annecy vlog, I just show what I got up to in the time I was in Geneva and Annecy, and if you're interested in how the party went - check out that video. If you want to know how the answer to the quest, how expensive is Geneva - it is very expensive.
In Geneva, I walked around Lake Geneva, walked around the city, looked for bus routes between Geneva and Annecy and had a look at Geneva high street. If you're looking for things to do in Geneva, you're probably out of luck with this video, but it's worth a watch.
In Annecy, I simply walked around Annecy old town, then headed down to Lake Annecy to meet the people I was going to party with that night. If you're looking for things to do in Annecy, this travel vlog probably isn't the best video to watch as I was only there for a short time. However, if you want to know how to get from Geneva to Annecy or Annecy to Geneva, then that's pretty much all I did in this travel vlog.
I had to walk for nearly 2 hours at 5.30am to get back to Annecy after the party because there was no public transport.
1 hour drive from my house to Manchester Airport - 90 minute flight - 1 hour bus ride from Geneva to Annecy - 20 minute car journey to the house party.
1 hour 45 minute walk from the house to Annecy - 30 minute wait for the bus - 1 hour hungover bus ride from Annecy to Geneva Airport - 1 hour wait at the airport - 90 minute flight - 1 hour drive home from Manchester.
Was it worth it? Nope. That Sunday was one of the worst days I've had, and my body has never felt so exhausted.
