10 Things to do in Valencia, Spain Travel Guide Video Transcript: (València)
Continuing our travels through Spain, our next stop was Valencia.
Located along the coast, Spain’s third-largest city is renowned for its mild climate, futuristic constructions and paella.
We’ll spent most of our time in Valencia was mostly spent eating, but when we weren’t restaurant hopping or snacking our way through markets, we were exploring the city on foot and the destination quickly rose to the top.
In this Valencia travel guide we’re going to take you guys on a tour of the city and show you some of the things you can do on your visit.
After lunch we were ready to go sightseeing around Valencia. Our first stop: the Silk Exchange.
We went on a walk around the Old Quarter without much of a plan in mind. We saw some street art browsed through a few shops, and randomly stumbled across the narrowest building in Europe - that’s the terracotta.
Since the tower was closed, we decided to stop by Horchateria Santa Catalina to try a drink that you either love or hate: horchata.
This cold milky-looking drink is made with chufas, better known as tiger nuts in English.
Our next attraction was Valencia Cathedral, which is home to a Holy Chalice that has been defended as the true Holy Grail.
If there’s one dish that we had to try in Valencia, it was paella. Many non-Spaniards view paella as Spain's national dish, but Spaniards will tell you this is a regional Valencian dish.
The City of Arts and Sciences, is a cultural and architectural complex that looks quite spacey and futuristic.
The complex itself is made up of various structures including a domed-glass garden that’s filled with palm trees, the planetarium, an interactive science museum, an aquarium, an opera house, and a plaza designed to hold concerts and sporting events and Turia Park.
But paella wasn’t all we had at the restaurant. We also ordered fideuá.
We had a food adventure in Valencia’s Central Market. Although this is primarily a place to buy your fresh fish, vegetables, meat, and fruit, you can also find some stands that sell smaller snacks and traditional Spanish dishes.

Buenos Aires is one of our favourite cities in the world, so as soon as we arrived, we hit the ground running. In this guide we'll be visiting numerous neighbourhoods including Recoleta, San Telmo, Boca and Palermo, while showcasing a mix of fun activities and main attractions. AND since we're huge foodies, we'll also be introducing you to Argentine dishes you simply cannot miss. For planning a trip to the capital, here are 50 things to do in Buenos Aires documentary:

CASCADES D'AKCHOUR - MAROC
Cascades d'Akchour - Maroc
Coordonnées GPS: 35.239357, -5.177388
Les cascades d'Akchour sont situées dans le parc national de Talassemtane, à une trentaine de kilomètres de la ville de Chefchaouen. C'est dans cette ville que nous dormirons ce soir.
Nous avons réussi à nous trouver un espace de stationnement rapidement, même si le site était vraiment très achalandé. Il en coûte 10 dirhams pour le stationnement.
C'est par une très chaude journée de septembre que nous avons débuté notre randonnée à cet endroit.
Plusieurs commerçants étalent leurs marchandises à l'entrée du site.
Nous traversons le petit pont piétonnier qui passe par-dessus la rivière pour nous diriger sur la rive gauche. C'est là que débute le sentier de randonnée vers les cascades d'Akchour.
Nous sommes déjà éblouis par la splendeur du site et nous n'avons même pas encore débuté notre randonnée.
Il faut dire que le parc où sont situées les cascades d'Akchour fait partie de la réserve de biosphère intercontinentale de la Méditerranée car il possède une riche biodiversité. Il est considéré comme étant l'un des plus beaux sites naturels du Maroc.
Comme il faisait très chaud, nous avons décidé de nous baigner dans le bassin situé dans le haut de la cascade située à l'entrée du site.
L'eau est turquoise, limpide et plutôt fraîche. Alain s'y rend d'abord, moi ensuite. Comme il y a peu de femmes à proximité, mais beaucoup de jeunes hommes, je préfère entrer dans l'eau tout habillée, bottes de randonnée y compris.
Le tout aura bien le temps de sécher durant notre randonnée. De toute façon, je répéterai certainement l'expérience quelques fois puisque la chaleur est plutôt accablante.
Une série de cascades toutes aussi belles les une que les autres se succèdent tout le long du parcours. Des bassins sont érigés au pourtour des cascades, permettant ainsi de nous rafraîchir si le besoin s'en fait ressentir.
De petits restaurants sont érigés tout le long de la rivière. Il est donc facile de se procurer à boire et à manger. La tagine est à l'honneur.
Des ponts plutôt précaires ont été érigés à plusieurs endroits au-dessus de la rivière pour traverser d'une rive à l'autre.
Selon ce que j'ai pu constater, la dimension des cascades semble augmenter de plus en plus en nous éloignant de notre point de départ.
Nous avons fait la rencontre d'un groupe de jeunes hommes et je me suis joint à eux pour une petite session photo et vidéo. Nous avons eu bien du plaisir.
Nous avons poursuivi notre chemin vers une autre cascade qui était également très jolie.
Nous nous sommes arrêtés à un restaurant en bordure de la rivière et avons demandé à quelqu'un combien de temps il restait pour nous rendre jusqu'à la grande cascade, but ultime de cette randonnée.
Il nous a mentionné qu'il y avait encore 1 heure de marche, mais que cela ne valait pas vraiment la peine d'y aller puisqu'il n'y avait qu'un filet d'eau qui s'en échappait.
Après réflexion, nous avons plutôt rebroussé chemin, étant satisfaits de tout ce que nous avions pu voir lors de notre randonnée, et avons plutôt décidé d'entreprendre une autre randonnée, celle qui mène au Pont de Dieu.
Le retour a été beaucoup plus rapide étant donné que nous n'avons fait aucun arrêt en cours de route.
Cela nous a pris 1h30 pour effectuer l'aller-retour jusqu'à la dernière cascade que vous apercevrez dans la prochaine vidéo.
Le rythme est différent pour chacun et il faut dire que je fais de fréquents arrêts pour prendre des photos.
Je vous conseille de porter de bonnes chaussures de randonnée ainsi qu'un chapeau pour vous protéger du soleil. Procurez-vous également une bouteille d'eau car il est possible de se déshydrater très rapidement en période de chaleur intense.

Pompeii was destroyed by volcanic ash and pumice during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius back in AD 79. After thoroughly exploring the pompeii ruins we head into modern Pompei city to visit more attractions and eat pizza at our favorite pizzeria.

Visiting the Ruins of Pompeii, Italy Travel Guide Transcript:
While many travellers visit Pompeii on a day trip, we chose to base ourselves here for a few days. The main draw, of course, were the ruins of Pompeii, an ancient Roman city that was buried under ash and pumice when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD. We spent half a day walking through the world's largest excavation and archaeological site, and what follows it our mini travel guide.
Our first stop inside the complex was the Amphitheatre of Pompeii. Built around 70 BC, this is the oldest surviving Roman amphitheatre to have been built of stone; for comparison the Colosseum in Rome wouldn’t come into existence for another century. We toured the grounds and also checked out the music exhibit on site, because it turns out a lot of bands have played here over the years!
After visiting the amphitheatre which is on the very east end, we started making our way into the city. The streets were cobbled and all along there were rows of houses and villas, many of them with impressive frescoes that tell the tale of a wealthy city with lavish homes.
One of the reasons Pompeii is so well preserved is because it was buried quickly by volcanic ash and pumice, plus the lack of air and moisture also allowed for the buried artifacts to be extremely well preserved. Stepping into the homes is like stepping into the past; you can still see the elaborate mosaic floors and vibrant frescoes frozen in time.
Continuing our walk through Pompeii, we eventually reached the Forum. This square would have been the centre of life for locals with temples, municipal buildings, and markets. The statue of the centaur, half-man half-horse, is a focal point, as is the view of Mount Vesuvius looking down on the ruins.
To finish off our visit of Pompeii, we walked along the southern edge of the ruined city where we saw the casts of the victims of Vesuvius. When archaeological teams began excavating Pompeii, they noticed there were large voids in the compacted ash whenever they were digging around bones. By pouring plaster into the spaces, they were able to capture the final poses of the residents’ last moments in the city.
One of the best discoveries of our time in Pompeii was Pizzeria Alleria, we stumbled here soaking wet on our first night in the city and we just couldn’t stay away after that. Here’s what the fuss is all about.
After that, we ended up getting a second Margherita pizza - the first one was just too tasty! - and then we also ordered the Nutella cheesecake, which was just as decadent as it looks.
We started our do-it-yourself tour of modern Pompei at Piazza Bartolo Longo, a beautiful plaza lined with palm trees right in the heart of the city. Standing in the square, it’s impossible to miss the Shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei, where once you step you are greeted with painted domes and golden ceilings. And then from there, we went to the top of the bell tower for a 360-degree views of the city.
