Islamabad is the capital city of Pakistan, and when you are there, you’ll notice that it’s quite a bit more organized and spread out compared to many other major cities in Pakistan. We only had one full day in Islamabad, and we decided to make the most of it by going to a few of the top street food stall and restaurants that I wanted to check out. It turned out to be an amazing day of Pakistan food in Islamabad!

Islamabad Serena Hotel - First of all, we were hosted at Islamabad Serena Hotel, an amazing hotel in Islamabad. The rooms were great, it’s a huge hotel, and the breakfast buffet was extensive and very good. We woke up in the morning and headed straight for breakfast.

Majeed Huts ( - After reading about Majeed Huts in Roads and Kingdoms years ago, I knew it was a place I wanted to go. We went straight for Majeed Huts, which is a local Pakistani food dhaba, hole in the wall restaurant, on a university campus. Along with a multitude of Pakistani curries and dishes, one of their signature dishes is their “crisis” omelet, a combination of all the leftovers, mixed up, and filled into an oily omelet. It will solve any crisis, it’s that good. The rest of the food was equally as impressive, and I loved the atmosphere. Majeed Huts dhaba in Islamabad is one of my personal favorite restaurants from my entire trip to Pakistan.

The Monal - When we were in Islamabad we had to run a few errands in the afternoon, and things go late, so we didn’t make it up to Monal until dusk. Anyway, it was still a great view. They have a famous restaurant, but we only went for the view.

Afghani Kabab House - For dinner number 1, Ali and I went to Afghani Kabab House, a local favorite serving Afghani kebabs grilled up in a cloud of smoke. While there, we met a group of guys who watch our videos, and they invited us to eat with them. The kebabs are amazing, and I also really enjoyed the Kabuli pulao. Again, another street food stall in Islamabad that you can’t miss, it’s amazing.

Dawat Restaurant - Finally, Joel and I were invited to Dawat Restaurant, the Pakistani food restaurant at Islamabad Serena Hotel for second dinner. It was a nice restaurant, and really good, really tender meat. The biryani in particular stood out to me, as did the shrimp pakoras.
Again, this was my only full day in Islamabad, but it was an amazing day!

Kondaveedu represents historical significance of Kondaveedu kingdom.

Kondaveedu was the capital of Reddy kingdom in 14th and 15th centuries A.D. Srinadha, Errapragada were
the court poets of Kondaveedu reddy kings. Errana was the kavitrayam of telugu poets.
Prolaya Vema Reddy founded the Kondaveedu Kingdon. Of the reddy kings Ana Vema Reddy was the greatest King of Kondaveedu
Dynasty. Prolaya Vema was followed by Anapotha Reddy,Anavema Reddy, Kumaragiri Reddy, Pedakomati Vema Reddy,
Racha Vema Reddy. Kondaveedu had two sub kingdoms, one is Rajamundry/Rajamahendravaram and the other is Kandukuru.
Kataya Vema Reddy was the minister of Kumaragiri Reddy. Yogi Vemana was the son of the reddy king Pedda Komati Vema
Reddy. Ana Vema Reddy constructed the Srisailam patalaganaga steps, Veerasiro Mandapam in Srisailam temple,
Steps to ahobalam (ahobilam), Reddy rulers reconstructed amaravathi temple, ,
donated several gifts to Simhachalam temple.
Kondaveedu as an impartent fort in south India forts/Indain forts,north Indain ports/India forts, fort/forts.
A committee was formed in the year 2005 Dec which is known as Kondaveedu Fort Development Committee,
this committee is striving hard to bring funds from the government of Andhra Pradesh (India) to develop the ruined fort
and historical places in Kondaveedu. Reddy kings followed kakatiya kings, kakatiya dynasty , reddy kings are
contemporarys of vizayanagara rulers, vizayanagara empire, Hampi , Velama rulers. Kamma caste commanders , velama caste,
muslim, Balija commanders worked under reddy rulers. Reddy commanders constructed Ramappa temple.

ISKCON Plans to build golden temple at Kondaveedu. Reddy rulers followed the principles of Dharma, followed the path of
their predecessors Chera, Chola, Pandya, Hoyasala and Rashtrakuta.

Early reddy rulers occupied the land between the river Krishna and Godavari, went down upto Srikalahasti temple.
Kondaveedu fort development committee would like to invite actress Sameera Reddy to visit Kondaveedu .

Winning Lab at Dog show in Manipur, India

Dog show in Manipur, India.

The Canine carnival 2015 at Imphal Hapta Kangjeibung evoked an overwhelming response with more than 100 dogs turning up for the competitions.

Organised by Manipur Dog Lovers Club (MDLC) under the theme ‘Stop Dog Meat’ and ‘Health First’, the event is focused on various breeds of dogs raised in the State.

B. Badrinarayan Sharma, Commissioner (GAD &AE) and Dr. R.K Nimai inaugurated the dog show as Chief Guest and President respectively.

The exhibition turned out to be a dog lovers’ delight with different breeds, including the indigenous varieties, adorning the show. Different Dog varieties like Labrador retriever, German Shepherd, Siberian Husky, English Mastiff, Rottweiler, St. Bernard, Bull Mastiff turned up to participate and showcase their talents in the show. Local breeds of Awang Huijao (Tangkhul hui) and Meitei Hui also participated in the show.

Breed show, Talent show, free veterinary camp, talks by animal experts, photo exhibition, felicitation of the Samaritans and book release were also a part of the programme.

The evening ended with several talent shows which were brought in by the trained dogs.

Mahanandi

Mahanandi is a village located east of the Nallamala Hills near Nandyal, Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is a picturesque village surrounded by thick forests. Within 15 km of Mahanandi, there are nine Nandi shrines known as Nava Nandis. Mahanandi is one of the Nava Nandis. The Mahanandiswara Swamy Temple, an important shrine, is located here. This ancient temple dates back over 1,500 years. The inscriptions of 10th century tablets speak of the temple being repaired and rebuilt several times. These nine temples are Mahanandi, Shivanandi, Vinayakanandi, Somanandi, Prathamanandi, Garudanandi, Suryanandi, Krishnanandi (also called Vishnunandi) and Naganandi.
