Mecklenburgische Seenplatte (Mecklenburg Lake District) - 4 Day Kayaking Trip
A few videos and photos from my recent kayaking trip to the Mecklenburg Lake District in north East Germany.
A beautiful and peaceful area, sometimes referred to as the 'Land of a Thousand Lakes', it encompasses a series of lakes interconnected by natural channels or canals. Kayakers can complete circular routes almost entirely on water, with plenty of campsites, cafes and picnic sites on the shores at which to take breaks.

La Salada de Chiprana with wheelchair

In my journey through the most beautiful and accessible places of the province of Zaragoza, I came to a spectacular, wild and radical, the lagoon known as La Salada de Chiprana which is actually a set of gaps. The whole complex of ponds is the only deep saline endorheic permanent water lagoon in Europe. It features flora, fauna and microorganisms that are only found here.
The visit began in the village, in Chiprana that monitors from high waters Mequinenza Reservoir. In the depths of this peaceful village is the Interpretation Center of the Salt of Chiprana. through a well executed ramp we enter the curiosities of the lagoon, know that its index of salinity is much higher than the Mediterranean Sea and close to the Dead Sea. We may interact to better understand this natural wonder and this is where we will advise the best route if we go with wheelchair.
A few kilometers from Chiprana is the turning to the Salada, is a dirt road that tourism can run without any problem. The view on arrival could not be more dramatic: the lagoon at its finest.
Although no marked parking spaces, we will have trouble stopping the car and move the wheelchair caked dirt and stone.
We are high, the Laguna is the background, the panorama is spectacular and the summer heat if too so I recommend you madruguéis a little.
If it has not rained, the road can go to skirt the lagoon on its left bank (from the park). Better if we are accompanied since we are surrounded by nature and natural way is accessibility, but not specifically designed. Shrubs and grasses show us the limits of a road that sometimes does something devious and fun. With electric chair, electric handlebar as Stricker Baker Rodem, or electric scooter as the Sterling Diamond Sunrise Médical not have problems. If we go with manual wheelchair, may have to help in some parts of the route. As you can see in the video with my Quickie Xenon had no major problems in most of the route.
Among the bushes, we will comfortably seated drawing the lagoon and its reflections, we reach the remains of a Roman road where the cars were leaving their well marked trail. Continue descending down to the olive trees that give rise to one of the best oils, Bajo Aragón. Depending on the time we can see daffodils, some endemic to the Laguna.
If we are too lazy to walk the path or is in poor condition, can take a tour with the car by the right margin and respecting the limits and prohibitions of hits since we are in a Protected Natural Reserve.
If you like nature and enjoy an unforgettable experience, I recommend you visit the Interpretation Centre and Salada de Chiprana, both places have been trained personally by me.
