Exploring Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas
In a quest to visit all 61 (as of now) US National Parks, we began our journey with Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. Known as America's Spa this park is a bit different from the other national parks. For one thing, it is the only park with a city running through it. It also ranks #1 for the smallest national park. But, don't let the name fool you, the water that comes from the springs on the mountainside is too hot to enter naturally. Famous bathhouse row has options where the water is cooled and you can take a dip in the healing mineral water. Check out our exploration of the park and leave any questions in the comments below!

One thing to keep in mind: the Hot Springs National Park is the smallest of all national parks in the United States. Not to be confused with national seashore, national monument, or national historic landmark, etc..

We, Irwin and Victorina, have decided to quit our jobs, sell everything we have and go on an epic road trip of visiting all U.S. National Parks! Follow our journey - from letting go of our material possessions, preparing for the extended camping trip, and even the mistakes, joys, doubts and adventures we make along the way! We hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty of Planet Earth.
Adventure begins in Feb 2017. We estimate this road trip will take us approximately 12 to 16 months. We know we will some amazing places and meet a lot of interesting people.

We're pretty excited to share one of our favorite towns with you in this video! We took a little detour on our route so we could check off Hot Springs National Park but it turned out to be way better than we imagined! We couldn't get enough of the delicious restaurants, hot spring water, bath houses, and 1920s vibe this town offers. Safe to say Hot Springs, AK jumped right up into our top 3 places we've traveled to. Have you been? What are your thoughts on this area?

Harmony Borax Works was famous for the Twenty Mule Team wagons used to transport the partially refined borax.
Beside gold and silver mining, prospectors scoured the mountains for antimony, copper, lead, zinc, and tungsten in the early 1900's.
