Maribo is a town in Lolland municipality in Region Sjælland on the island of Lolland in south Denmark. To the north of Maribo is Nørresø and to the south is Søndersø . Søndersø is the largest lake on Lolland. There are more islands in Søndersø than in any other lake in Denmark. These include the islands of Fruerø, Hestø, Præstø, Borgø, Lindø, Askø and Worsaaes. This is part of the Maribo Lakes Nature Park, which spans the towns of Maribo, Holeby, Sakskøbing and Nysted.

    Knuthenborg Safaripark is a safari park on the island of Lolland in the southeast of Denmark. It is located 7 km to the north of Maribo, near Bandholm. It is one of Lolland's major tourist attractions with over 250,000 visitors annually, and is the largest safari park in northern Europe. It is also the largest natural playground for both children and adults in Denmark. Among others, it houses an arboretum, aviaries, a drive-through safari park, a monkey forest and a tiger enclosure. Knuthenborg covers a total of 660 hectares , including the 400-hectare Safaripark. The park is viewable on Google Street View.

    The Maribo Open-Air Museum is a museum located on the western outskirts of Maribo on the Danish island of Lolland. It is located 1 kilometre from Torvet, to the west of the Maribo Sø Camping site and oak woodland, near the northern banks of Søndersø Lake. Opened in 1927, the museum provides a picture of village life in Lolland and Falster in the 19th century.
