Just 12 miles from Havana’s downtown, the Eastern Beaches unroll toward the town of Matanzas, the birthplace of the rumba, and Cárdenas, where the Cuban Flag flew for the very first time. From here, follow the scent of fresh lime, rum and suntan lotion north to Varadero.
After exploring the northern coastline, turn south towards Cuba’s most revolutionary city, Santa Clara, and Trinidad, once the sugar capital of the world. Don’t miss elegant Cienfuegos, the only Cuban city founded by the French.
Sometimes it’s hard to know whether Cuba is awakening to the world, or if the world is awakening to Cuba. Whatever your politics, it's easy to admire this island nation that has proudly gone its own way.

After surprising my Mum with her dream trip to Cuba we flew over to the capital Havana to spend a few days there before our tour in Western Cuba began.
All major sights in Old Havanna are in walking distance such as El Capitolio , the Museum of the Revolution, Plaza Vieja or the Great Theatre to name just a few. Take a day to roam the narrow streets of the old town and make sure to have a drink at the roof of the Hotel Ambos Mundos!

SANTERIA DANCE in MATANZAS CUBA!
On our trip to Cuba, we witnessed one of the most creative and mesmerizing dance performances. The Santeria dance is an Afro-Cuban folkloric dance of Yaruba origin from Western Nigeria.
The dance shows the Orichas or Saints of this religion, such as Yemaya in blue. Yemaya represents the great mother who lives and rules over the seas. Oshun (dressed in Yellow) is a Nigerian Yoruba deity of the river and fresh water, luxury and pleasure, fertility, and beauty and love. This dance took place in Matanzas, Cuba.

SUBSCRIBE: - Let's visit Varadero Beach which stands at the vanguard of Cuba’s most important industry – tourism. As the largest resort in the Caribbean, it guards a huge and constantly evolving stash of hotels (over 60), shops, water activities and poolside entertainment; though its trump card is its beach that is undoubtedly one of the Caribbean's best.
With an expanse of 30 km, of which 22 km are beaches, Varadero is considered, due to its consistent tropical light, its exotic, exuberant vegetation and the warmth of its waters, as one of the main touristic attractions for the European travellers. The Playa de Varadero Beach, or Playa Azul Beach, a beautiful settlement of pink and golden sand and glistening water, is mentioned among the names of the most outstanding beaches of the world. Doubtless, it is the most beautiful in the entire Cuban archipelago.
